Corral tickets were fairly expensive for the time and place (they actually went down when they went into the Dome) and really tough to get.

Regular season at MSG is louder than the dome. Not sure if it's the acoustics of the arena, but it seemed like it was a way better atmosphere. The dome has a much more modern feel to it though.
That said, I've never heard anything like the playoffs at the dome in '04. I actually left game 6 vs Tampa with a headache and ringing ears. By far the loudest stadium I've ever been in.

Ive also been to many other arenas...forgetting to mention Montreal my first go around. A Toronto/Habs or Toronto/Bruins game is just as loud as a Flames/Oiler or Flames/Canucks game. The Wild have put every crowd to sleep in the past...maybe not this year though.
Quite frankly Calgary aint #1 in crowd support. Its ok...but not the best.
Oh and while Im on this...get rid of the moron who announces goals and players...he sounds like a poor mans version of Michael Buffer at a boxing match. Hes embarrassing.
BTW based on where my ex seasons tiks were at the Dome....3rd row by the Visitors penalty box...I might have been what you consider a "suit". No jealousy here.

I'm not arguing with the fact that Calgary isn't #1, but Toronto? Please. The seats in the lower bowl are always half empty because of the luxury suites underneath. Its brutal when your sold out arena constantly has an empty lower bowl.

LOL...I never suggested Toronto was #1....I suggested it has good atmosphere...and that aint the Nachos. Dependant on which two teams are playing in reg season is the atmosphere you will get....Im sure Flames vs Minny or Columbus rocks the house? NOT.
Playoffs are another story...thats not what this thread is about....but Ive been to Joe Louis, Edmonton, Vancouver, Boston Gardens, and Calgary in the playoffs...all were fantastic.

Yup, man....I was able to get playoff tix to Ducks/Avs last year the SAME day as the game....anyone could have. The atmosphere sucked. I haven't made it to a Kings game in a while....I need to go when the Oilers come to town
I did go to a Flames game at the Dome a few years ago and was super impressed....Im not a flames fan but the team has great supporters! Same as the Oilers

Not every game is as loud as BOA but the atmosphere at the dome is pretty good regardless of the opponent...

Yikes, sorry but that is the worst attitude that one can hold regarding their economy, especially if it is built completely around a single resource. Now I don't think that the oil and gas sector is going to crash anytime soon but the not in our lifetime crap?
With regards to arena atmosphere though of the arenas that I have been to the playoffs in Calgary is the best bar none - but in the late 90s it was pathetic and one of the worst in the league in terms of crowd involvement. Heck the Dome was the library for a number of years. Crowd excitment is directly related to team success. No one really cheers for the loser.

Edmonton, Calgary, Montreal, Vancouver, Detroit, San Jose are all great in terms of arena atmosphere.
