It's crazy how emotional I get watching these games in Seattle. Lots of smiles, lots of pride. Those fans are just the best.

Happ is now 20-4. Never saw that coming, what an unreal season.

Wow, Happ with just an incredible season!

It's too bad Porcello is having an even better one...

Crazy, right? He has a legitimate shot at the Cy Young now.

I think it's either Porcello or Britton, but Happ is at least giving them a run.

I saw some of the Cherington discussion here, and didn't comment but Jays fans should LOVE this addition to the front office. Cherington gets a bad rap from a lot of Sox fans, but the team is where they are today because of him. I've hated the Sandoval signing from the moment it happened, but I blame ownership for that more than Cherington.

Refused to trade Mookie Betts for Hamels. Turned a few months of Jon Lester into Cespedes. Then he traded Cespedes for Rick Porcello, who he then signed to a very reasonable contract. He signed Hanley Ramirez. Lots of smart moves... Adding Cherington would make me very excited if I were a Jays fan.

Oh yeah, Britton. Tough as a closer, but he's been insane

This is becoming a very legitimate question and one the Jays are likely starting to ponder, who starts your 1 game wildcard game if you have the luxury to line it up the way you want?

Happ your 20 game winner?
Estrada who appeared unhittable last night?
Sanchez if he's on his game in his next two starts?
Stroman who showed last year that he did not wilt under the big game pressure?

Has to be Happ in my opinion, followed by Sanchez.

Happ for sure; you have to be lucky to be good (or whatever) and the Jays have generally hit very well when he starts

With my quick look at the sched, if the Jays want that pitcher to be Happ, they will either have to skip one of his starts (not likely) or pitch him on 1 days short rest for one of his starts. Will be tough deciding which one to pick, he will have two regular season starts left to pick which one to give him short rest for. Can't give him short rest for the WC game, might as well start someone else if that's what they would be facing.

“It’s a nice number,” said Happ, humble as always. “As I’m going though the season, I’m focused on the day-to-day and the preparation but you don’t get to that number without having great teammates. I’m really grateful just to be on this team.

“Special shoutout to Russ Martin who got me through a lot of those. We’ve been through a lot of battles this year and hopefully there are many more to come.

“It was just a great night, with great atmosphere in the park. It was a lot of fun.”

I don't think you can underestimate Russ Martin's value to this team. Legitimate stud catcher who makes the entire pitching staff better. Amazing stuff. He's actually been able to make our bullpen legit.

They may be able to skip in the last series of the year if they don't gain any ground ahead of that.

Yup and Boston may start nobody that series to rest for the playoffs.

I think it is Happ too, Sanchez close second. Might just be me but i feel like at multiple times this season when they've needed a good start from a starter Happ has delieverd. I probably have the most amount of confidence in him.

The Mariners are my like dating life. Slow building hope and then a huge inevitable let down.

Sigh. I guess there's always next year.

As they say, it's no coincidence that Martin's teams always find themselves in the playoff mix one way or the other. He's done a nice job of turning things around since that awful start he had at the plate. No doubt he's really brought a lot of stabililty to the position. For years the catching position really lacked for the Blue Jays. He's certainly addressed that .
