If I do any of these, I'm writing an essay for each one. It's no chore for me, I have time to do it.

No to the above.
That will create more work for the mods who will have to close and merge multiple GDT's into one.

Some sincere advice. If you do it take is as an opportunity to hone your craft. Strive to use as few a words as possible to communicate your points. That's where there is true genius in writing...not in trying to write a lot but actually striving for brevity. I'm as guilty as anyone when it comes to brain dump posts but if this is something you want to try to so...strive to be succinct. When I worked on broadcast journalism we had to boil stories down to 45 seconds. Every word had to matter. It's a real art and being out of it for a number of years has taught me if you don't work at it...you lose it

Lol its not a big deal
People are saying don't worry too much about it. If you're busy or whatever don't sweat it. If anyone wants to make a write up feel free to post it in a game thread. Or don't.

Heathen! The Power of GDT Creation must remain in the hands of The Chosen! Commoners shouldn't bastardize the sacred tradition of Game Day Threads. Repent and praise Cali!
May HD bless your children.

Wow. Ok pretty clear I misjudged the community on this one. I lived for this stuff.
Will be sad for the lean game threads but I might be in the minority.
I wonder if it's the same opinion for bingo and crews post game summaries also?

I prefer the comments be in one thread. Less threads to open.

That's good advice, and I do try to keep my pieces to-the-point.
Even still -- I was talking about being thorough. I don't want to write a few dinky sentences and be on with it; unless, of course, the game is, say, against Columbus in February and has basically no storyline.
But I appreciate the post.

I think the passion and pride that Halifax Drunk and Cali put into the GDT is the type of attitude that make this place great to visit. And I respect Cali for having the passion to try and make this continue.
One of the things I love about CP are the little traditions that have grown organically, such as the GDT, Around the League report, etc. None of them can continue forever, but they make this place, and are great examples of people finding their own unique ways to contribute to the community. Which is one of the most important parts of a community. I would never discourage any of them from continuing. I find it a little sad when any of these traditions end, even if they are traditions I was less interested in.
But, maybe it's because I'm getting old.

Yeah, I get it, I'm not worried about it. I guess I'm just a little surprised by the reactions in this thread. People kept asking me to do them, and the response was overwhelmingly positive for the longest time. Now it seems lukewarm at best. If people don't want me to do them that way anymore, or do them at all, it's fine. I kinda felt like if I didn't do them I was letting CP down or something.
It's on me, I read the room wrong.

No one is going to prevent anyone from putting in effort if they want to make a long ass GDT. It's just that it doesn't need to be that way and it doesn't need to be a set group of a few people all the time.
Let everyone participate, and if you enjoy writing a long one, do it up. People naturally gravitate to the thread they find best anyway.

So what does everyone think of Bingo's post-game posts? Do people care for them? Or AC's videos, just because they're 20 minutes long and not just simply a minute of the best of the best plays of that particular player?

I like reading those. I like the odds and bit paragraph, three stars and lineups posted at the bottom in case I missed the game.
Later in the year he also summarizes either the lottery or playoff race.

Love them, particularly the odds and ends at the end.
He actually used to have much longer stories, but then found a format that allowed for a lot of quick hit points.
It is the same reason why Friedman's 30 thoughts is so popular.

I sometimes write them - and I really enjoy doing it.
But I usually feel like the amount it is being viewed (readership) does not warrant the effort being put into it.
