I like this approach and agree with it completely.
I'd probably swap out Crisp though for more of a builder.

Hotchkiss
The Seaman brothers
Badger
Fletcher.

I like the concept too of looking at builders, management etc.

Fletcher is obvious.
Hotchkiss too.
Probably Seaman brothers
Need to have a coach here. I believe Badger Bob was the better coach but he didn't win a Cup here. And of course he is already on Wisconsin's Mt. Rushmore. Maybe Al Macneil? Crisp probably gets sold short by people like me. He got the job done after all. No one else has.

No love for Skalbania for bringing the team here?

Another way to look at it is if they put four statues outside the new arena, who would it be?

Outside Staples arena, you have Magic, Gretzky, Chick Hearn, Jerry West, Robitaille, Kareem. I'm sure Kobe to follow.

Who would ours be if limited to 4?

Lanny, Iginla, Peter Maher, maybe Hotchkiss or Fletcher?

I don't post much, but it would be hard to underestimate Lanny's effect on the Flames and the community as a whole in his time. I don't want to turn the thread in to an Iggy vs. Lanny debate because they were both amazing faces of the franchise in their respective periods, but Lanny was not just the Flames, he was southern Alberta, Calgary, and so on.

How many athletes are still able to use their notoriety to sell cars and draw people to events (nearly) 30 years after their last game?

Lanny would have to be on my Mount Flamesmore.

Thread ideas to keep us occupied through the weekend:

Who would be the Calgary Flames' Statue of Liberty?
Which Flame (current or past) would be most likely to make it to the final 2 on the Bachelorette?
Which Flame would be most likely to star in a remake of Top Gun?
If your favourite Flame was a food, what would they be?
Where does Harvey the Hound rank on your list of all time greatest canines?

Totally OT, but when my wife and I went to the 2nd Hip show at the Dome, I started to kill myself laughing when we crossed over the pedestrian bridge and there he was.....Broncos guy.

The guy's branding is top notch.

Fleury Iginla Lanny. No one else at the same level. Fletcher maybe but he loses his spot based on the trade.

I'm busy this weekend, so this should save me from opening multiple threads:

Harvey
Backlund
