There's two TKD organizations, WTF and ITF.

When I was doing TKD I was in WTF. ITF was no contact sparring. WTF was the main organization and it's the one in the Olympics and the one with all of the best competitors (I don't even know if there's an ITF school in Calgary).

Now, when I looked at the olympic rules they looked completely different than what I remember but I haven't competed in 11 years so I don't know if they changed them for the Olympics or if that's the new rules, either way I didn't like them. Made them about style more so than effectiveness in an actual fight. The rinks look smaller too but maybe that's just cause I was a kid when I did it!

This USA vs AZE bout is way better. I think those first two bouts I watched were just crappy fighters. And it is women so it's probably the equivalent of Jr. Boys which makes it harder to watch. Excited to see the men fight. Should be a lot more acrobatic and fast. The women seem live and breath by countering a roundhouse kick with an axe kick.

Park looks like she is going to be unstoppable today. She'll probably have a 6 stroke or more lead by the end of the day.

Thats so exciting about getting a bronze in race walking. Is that considered a track and field event?

Good thing I checked this thread for some updates. I was so into the golf coverage that I forgot Canada was playing soccer this morning.

Awesome for us! Kind of feel bad for the Japanese guy though. Crush your body for a 50km race, only to get DQed at the very end. ouch.

Yup

Canada so far has SIX Athletics medals! They got 1 in London.

Why? did you not see what happened? he purposefully made contact with Dunfee to break his stride. Cheaters deserve to be DQ'd.

No, I hadn't. Not saying he didn't deserve to get DQ, just that it sucks to go through all that for nothing.

Wooohoo!! Great run by Lawrence! She should really be a winger, her skillset is much better suited there than fullback
