- The Dallas Stars were close to a deal this week for an upgrade on forwards but the deal fell through. Expect GM Shah to continue shopping for an upgrade up front. It is said Mike York is on the block in Dallas as he may not fit into the teams plans.
- More then a few teams are talking to GM Olson about players they would like to acquire on their rosters. Olson is listening attentively to offers at the moment and a deal could be made soon.
- Defenseman Mattias Norstrom of the Atlanta Thrashers is said to be on the block. 4-5 teams would be reported to have interest in the defenseman.
- The Winnipeg Jets are looking for an upgrade in goal after trading away Kevin Weekes. GM Walsh would like to solidify his goaltending with a starter.
- The Philadelphia Flyers are still looking to get the right chemistry on lines up front as Johnathan Cheechoo has got off to a slow start. Noops is said to still be looking for younger defenseman to bolster his roster.
