Basically it is an allusion to Joker's origin story. The vat at Ace Chemicals is how he originally went insane (Burton's 1989 Batman followed this origin).

Harley was in love with him and jumped in so that she could be like him.

Just saw Suicide Squad. It was trash. DC should leave the comic book movies to Marvel.

0.5/10.

What the #### was that. Who the #### edited this movie?

Like seriously. Nothing made sense and everything was so cheesy.

God dammit now I'm pissed off.

It wasn't even worth the discount. I actually didn't even remember the discount until I got to the theatre, lucky me!

Is there anyone Canadian left who isn't a Scene member? You'd be foolish not to be at this point.

Saw it last night, thought the movie started great, the build up of every character and the movie dropped off from there. Hope when they release it blu-ray they have an ultimate edition like BVS so we can see more scense that were cut.

It was dogsh#t.

Really, people want to see an extended edition of that?

Harley and Deadshot were the only redeeming factors. Leto was decent but barely had a presence.

Since its a DC property Im sure the vast majority of this board hated it before they even saw it (if they have even seen it before bashing it), but I thought the movie was a whole lot of fun. Super high energy, plenty of laughs, great soundtrack, great action sequences and performances by the key players.

This movie is generating a lot of $, repeat viewings and new fans to the property. I would certainly suggest people go see it rather than reading some review that bags on "pacing" and go have some fun.

You're either deluding yourself or have low expectations of movies that cost hundreds of millions to make.

On the whole it was bad. Coming from someone that saw it before making a verdict, wanted to like it, but didn't convince myself of something that simply is not true.

If I were 12 or 13 years old and cared more about 'fun' than a plot or a proper villain, then I probably would say what you're saying though.

Katana's entrance was the worst character introduction yet.

Alright everyone's in the helicopter about to head out and up jumps a final character. Then a mere 10 second flashback and off we go, she's part of the squad now!

Terrible. It all seemed so rushed.

I went and saw this movie this morning. Not very good, I expected more based on all the hype and was let down. Some of the characters had promise but the actual storyline felt rushed and thrown together.

I also wasn't much of a fan as Leto as the joker.

Haha, you actually think the vast majority of us give a crap about DC vs. Marvel? I just want to watch a good movie. Definitely will wait for Blu-Ray on this one.

I think you're in the wrong forum. Redirecting you to http://www.reddit.com/r/Marvel.

Saw it on Saturday.

Quite enjoyed, awesome soundtrack and action.

My only real complaint are the weak villains.

I don't think people around here jump all over something just because it is DC, I think most people are just genuinely let down that DC can't get their crap together. I for one am sick of paying my money to see bad movies and I will be boycotting future DC releases until they get it right. I will gladly hand my money over to Disney to continue to be entertained by their Marvel and Star Wars films for however long they continue to make them. Even their so-so movies are still leaps and bounds ahead of what DC is putting out. Why should we continue to punish ourselves? If you put a product out on the market you should be prepared to have it raked across the coals in comparison to superior products.

Personally I enjoy the vast majority of movies I see in the theatre. I like movies and when I go to the big screen, I generally enjoy myself and don't feel ripped off. I don't think that makes me a 12 year old.

SS had its redeeming qualities but could have been so much better. As an earlier poster said, it was very lazy writing in coming up with the main antagonist. There should be a reason they use villains for certain missions (disposable, disavowance). I liked the Enchantress character, quite spooky at first, but then she was basically absent.

I really wanted to like Leto's Joker and the trailers looked fantastic. But I was a little disappointed. He needed some quieter moments of crazy IMO.

I thought it was alright. The visuals were awesome, as someone mentioned Enchantress looked cool, well, in the beginning then she looked bad at the end. Which kinda sums up how I feel about the movie.

Good enough at the start, middle was fun then the final third was just bad. The story got way too complicated and wasnt making much sense by the end. SPOILER - so after they kill the alien guys they are just out? Like, the giant purple vortex to another dimension just isnt of concern? No? Just go for a drink instead? Then maybe head home, wait for the end of the human race?

It was so convoluted. It was almost as if the movie forgot the that main story hadnt finished yet. And the movie was probably right, it should have ended there.

Pacing is really important for fun. I would not recommend seeing a film that has bad pacing for fun. Too slow is boring, too fast feels like nothing. Much too fast you can't even follow.

Of course the right pace is highly subjective. Kind of like spicyness. (Pacing can also mean a lot of things.) Still, that kind of stuff is the critics job, and sometimes pacing is a problem.

I would agree that pacing was certainly one of the weak spots of Suicide Squad, although I think it's mostly a side effect of the film just having too much stuff in it. (Too many backstories, too much plot, too many characters etc.)

Btw, I'm pretty sure the biggest problems with the movie are at the production level. I don't think the actual filmmakers for example had much choice in how many characters they had to put in the movie. It needed to have all of the squad, even though that's too many characters to establish in one movie. Then it probably needed to have Batman, and set up future Batman films. Then it needed to have a prominent role for Joker. At this point you have spent half the running time of the movie on backstories and introduction scenes.

What they should have done is the Marvel thing. Harley Quinn / Joker backstory at the very least should have been it's own movie. Deadshot could have been it's own movie. They could have experimented by making a Katana film deliberately aimed for the Asian market.

Marvel built it's film empire with much more patience.
