Starting to get the impression that Le'Veon Bell isn't a very smart guy.

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/report-...134341500.html

Quote:
According to a report from ESPN’s Dan Graziano, Bell is facing a four-game suspension after missing a drug test – it is not for failure of a test.

Writes Graziano, “Sources close to the situation tell me Steelers RB Le’Veon Bell is facing a four-game suspension for violation of the NFL’s drug policy. The suspension is the result of a MISSED drug test, not a failed one, and the reason it hasn’t yet been announced is that the appeal process is still going on. No date for Bell’s appeal has been set, though it’s expected that it will be heard before the start of the regular season, meaning that if it’s not overturned, he would miss the first four games of the season.

Bell is the new Ricky Williams. Bell is also perhaps some proof that pot is waaay more addictive than thought. Has to be for this guy to throw away millions because he can't stay straight for a few years.

Speaking of smoking weed, Josh Gordon has been reinstated by the NFL, promptly suspended 4 games. Unlike Brady though, he's allowed to practice with the Browns.

Was discussing this on a Raiders forum with the latest Aldon Smith news of him allegedly smoking weed on Periscope that the allure of pot is incredibly high on younger adults. The consequences of these guys smoking weed is 1000x higher than it is for us seeing the shear amount of money these players stand to lose in current and future earnings and yet they still can't kick the habit. At the end of the day these guys when they are in their mid to late 30's are going to feel like complete idiots for flushing the opportunity of a lifetime down the toilet just to get high.

This pick has Jerry Jones written all over it. When 32 teams start passing on a guy that has first round talent there's fire not smoke.

Serious question, with pot being legal in some states, why is it a banned substance still? Seems ridiculous.

Probably due to the Federal laws and the NFL brand

Yay, Pete Carroll and John Schneider re-up with the Seahawks for 3 and 4 more years respectively. Good news for Hawks fans. One of the best coach / GM combinations will be together through the peak of the core players on the team.

Nick Foles has been cut by the Rams. It's pretty amazing to think he had a 7 TD game, and a 10 game run of 27TDs and 2INTs, and it wasn't even 3 years ago.

Honestly he wasn't THAT bad in 2014 either and he had a decent stretch for a rookie over 6 games in 2013. I don't think the guy is an all-pro and I thought that even after 2013 because he had a lot of luck go his way that year, but he should have been a decent enough fill-in starter or high-end backup.

Is Foles any worse than what the Broncos are running out?

Foles and Sanchez were about the same statistically in Philly during 2014 but I personally thought Sanchez looked much worse and Foles has a better arm.

I'd be happy to see the Chiefs grab a guy like Foles to back up Alex Smith.

The 49ers really need to hope Chip learned from his experience with the Eagles and that he checks his ego a bit. Peters is one of the leaders on the team, so for him to say this probably means a good chunk of the players felt the same way.

http://www.phillymag.com/birds247/20...Qo3JHt88C7B.99

Quote:
The offensive lineman was particularly discouraged by Kelly’s lack of adaptability, and how the former coach didn’t make needed changes.

“It was frustrating. An older guy like me, I’m just trying to get that ring,” Peters said. “To keep losing like that, it was hurtful.”

“If you run 100 times in a row back-to-back-to-back, don’t you think the 50th time, you’re going to be a little bit slower? But if you get a little bit of rest, you’re going be a little bit faster,” Peters said. “When you go back to the huddle and you get that wind, you’re just a little bit stronger when you go back to the line.”

He also feels being able to audible will be “very helpful,” in part because the running backs grew discouraged by having to run into a wall of defenders when they thought the play should’ve been changed. Peters believes Doug Pederson being a former player will be very beneficial, adding that the current coaching staff has more respect for veterans than the previous one did.

“I think so, because the last couple of years, there wasn’t a lot of vets. And any vet that stood up and had something to say, we got rid of him,” Peters said. “But Doug was a player here, and he understands veteran players. And he understands the game, so I think it’s better.”
