He looked great last year, then didn't have the same year at BC (though Eichel was gone). Made the WJC team but then wasn't all that great for them (though the team struggled).
I wasn't sure on him coming in. Sounds like he's still on track.
I think that this point you have to be concerned about Andersson's lack of conditioning. It is one thing to come into your first pro camp not in shape, but to come into your second prospect camp, and still have it be an issue - even after is was specifically identified by the organization - is a real red flag.
Hopefully he gets it together. The last guy that went down this route was Ryan Howse
He's a little bit lazy, a little bit unfit?

May be the Flames should send him to train with Gary Roberts, Roberts can show him how to eat nutritiously.

This was a three day prospect camp, I wouldn't be drawing too many conclusions, even regarding someone's fitness. Maybe the dude started to get the flu Monday, who knows. It's really tough to gleem anything from these three days.

Take it with a grain of salt, but my friend who was watching all week, overheard Anderssons conversation saying this was the first time he's been on ice all summer.

I mentioned yesterday that Rasmus needs to get his conditioning in order. I used the Ryan Howse example with Brayden Burke because I was puzzled as to why he doesn't have a contract and maybe it had to do with conditioning.
its definitely a red flag for Rasmus though. It's crazy how someone has the potential to make millions off a sport and you can't get your fitness in order ? it seem silly.
i think folks, myself included, take this dev camp way too seriously. Heck, even the prospect tournament is just a series of scrimmages of players who barely, and in most cases, have never ever played together.
The real assessment are the preseason games, where you have at least some definite NHL caliber folks in the mix, and the potential of being cut the next day are a driving force for the young guys, in some cases even the vets.
It's exciting to watch the kids and see how the look, especially as we are getting into the summer and that hockey craving is kicking back in after the draft/july 1st, but hints of injuries, a guy looking out of breath, a big play here, or lack of noticable play can't really be used to evaluate anything just yet.

Was at the scrimmage today and attended the Skill Sessions throughout the week. Very interesting to read the assesments from those who have posted. Not sure what some were watching or their knowledge of the sport. Everyone has their own opinions.
For those not there today, from the 6 minute mark(ish) in the first half on they played 4 on 4. This was not a gamelike scrimmage. Some instances they played 3 on 3.
Take that into account with some of the assessments.
