That's typical Salvador Perez. You shouldn't be surprised with that guy having a horrible at bat. He's a notorious free swinger.

Missed it as I was driving home. Did Saunders hit another homerun?

Good game to win on a night where the Red Sox, Orioles and Tigers all won.

It's pretty amazing considering the bullpen has blown 15 games that the Jays are where they are .

Please get a heavy left handed arm and try to win for ee and Bautista

Yup, if only we could have won half of those.

I can't stop telling myself that Baltimore will not sustain this pace given their starters, but they just keep chugging right along. I was that 5 game losing streak would be the beginning of the end for them and they turn around and win the series against the Dodgers.

Yeah, given the Orioles crappy starting pitching, they really don't deserve to still be leading the AL East. They've been getting ridiculous hitting and stupidly lucky too. That can't last. They're due for a bigger downturn.

Baltimore has great hitting and some good (maybe unsustainable ) bullpen this year

Recipe for a lot of wins

One has to expect the Orioles will go shopping for an arm.

But the perennial question with the Jays is whether or not Rogers will open the purse strings and let the team do the same. And it's honestly 50/50 on whether or not the corporate heads look at the attendance jump being a good team offered and allows it, or whether they just decide to sit back and collect the dollar bills before things return to normal.

At this point I don't think the Jays have the prospect capital to spend anymore.

Agreed. The only real chip the Jays have is Bautista and he's not going to fetch anything other than prospects because only a contender will want him. The Jays may need to trade him for prospects and than flip those prospects for a pitcher. 3 way trade anyone?

There's always prospects . They really only need a big left handed arm.

That's an interesting observation. I hadn't heard that one before.

No, that's robbing Peter to pay Paul. At best it makes the team different not better. I see zero benefit in doing that.

It's that or lose him for nothing in a few months. I originally wanted to keep Bautista for this run, but the offence keeps firing on all cylinders without him. His offense isn't really needed and he's declined at fielding significantly in the past few years, so I think the Jays have to use him in some sort of way to acquire the pitching they will need to win the AL East because as Resolute indicated, they have no prospects with any value left to trade.

Well I guess they have Guerrero, but he's pretty much untouchable I would assume (or at least hope that's the case).

With Saunters in left and Bautista in right the Jays have the worst outfield D in the MLB even with Pillar in centre.
