Good for him. He's such a nice guy and it would be nice if he could finish off his career on a positive note.

Speed lost them the series with the Blackhawks in 2015.
They acquired Hagelin right after, but he didn't fit Boudreau's system. They then watched.. Hagelin win the cup.
They know Raymond has had success with Carlyle. Not a surprise they're still looking for Hagelin type forwards, though Raymond has seen better days, but the signing is very unsurprising.

Ducks still have some holes in their top 9, wouldn't be surprised if they sign Hudler too

Probably signs for league minimum & then scores 20 goals.
With any luck we won't be the suckers who sign him to $3m/season on the back of it next time.

That sounds about right. Good deal for him and the Ducks. Helps offset some of the money he loses through the buyout.

Low risk, moderate reward here.
Raymond could be an ideal 13th forward for the Ducks. He can move up and down the lineup and was reportedly a true pro when sent to the AHL last year. Hope it works out for him - unless he's playing us.

I don't know Vancouver situation but they could use a guy like Hudler on the second line

Good for Raymond. Hope he does well there, other than the times we play them of course. I think he is the type of player that under the right circumstances, can help a team. If this doesn't work out for him, however, his NHL career is probably over.

Running down ex-players is very Oilerish.
Best of luck to local boy Mason going forward.

Yeah I hope he plays 82 games next year with the Ducks. That's about the only hope I have for him because if he's a regular on Anaheim then they're really in trouble.
