This is most realistic to me. I'm pretty sure Gulutzan is on record wanting a vet to play with Bennett. Also believe Stajan to the wing is going to happen. And Bouma played center all junior. And Shinkaruk & Tkachuk will be given all opportunities to succeed. Nice call!!

I think we will see Wideman traded before the season starts. Based on what Treliving said, I expect we will see Brouwer and Bennett on the same line. It sounds like Brouwer is going to mentor and help develop Bennett. If would make sense if Tkachuk is apart of that line. Bouma is supposedly on the trade market. I have a feeling we will see Jankowski and Shinkaruk make the team.

That sounds a little snarky. We have no goalies signed after this year. So yeah after more bad contracts come off the books, there will be goalies and Bennett needing to be signed. We had Hiller, Ramo, Hudler and Jones come off this year and that cap space got used up quickly.
Cap space is an asset too. Just making the observation that this team doesn't seem to have much of it. Hopefully we are close to contending.

It just seemed like an odd observation with all the well known circumstances.
There's significant cap coming off the books after next season, as well as the season after with Stajan / Bouma (clearing 5 Million).
We are in a position where we need to improve with each year, and today helped that process along, just like last year did shoring up the defense adding a big ticket in Hamilton.
If Bennett gets paid, it's because he's broken out in a big way, much like Monahan and Gaudreau have. While that might sound like a negative from a cap perspective, it isn't as far as the team's overall development goes.

That's just for matchups, so Bennett and Shinkaruk tear is up.

I think Stajan is a solid enough back up plan to play on the left of bennett if hunter isn't panning out. Maybe we get a look at Jankowski on Bennett's wing?
