Colborne is soft as butter, overplay by $0.5 million, a good deal. Guys played in the playoffs and has success, unlike Colborne, who shows up when it does not matter, Perron was not coming here.

It's these kind of signings that get W's in the Honda center in the playoffs.

Really happy with this signing, it gives the team more of an edge.

Your going to pay a premium.

With Brouwer, is the Flames still have cap room to sign Colborne or Ortio or some other players?

I hate how people are justifying this against Frolik because Frolik is "soft"

what does that even mean? That he's 4 times the player Brouwer is?

Pretty sure this is a bit of a discount. Looking at either term or AAV, he could have received more somewhere else. Just look at the other deals being handed out today.

Big body that plays a big game and is well liked in the room. Will slide up in the top two lines and fit nicely. Was the rw behind Tarasenko for the blues and i think would work well with our young forwards.

Don't like the AAV at all, but I'm okay with getting Brouwer. The Flames got better today, which is important.

I like the deal. Great veteran for this team. Have zero worry about this. A lot of over reaction on the board.

Will be interesting to see how he performs, just to put these advanced stat charts to the test.

I really don't view Brouwer in the same tier as Glencross or David Jones. Im gonna guess that he puts up 45-50 points with Gaudreau/Monahan or Bennett.

I was hoping for a year less, but cap hit is expected.

One of Tkachuk, Brouwer or Chiasson. Tkachuk may be the best fit due to having extremely good playmaking and hockey sense.

Forget Glencross, let's compare him to Bouwmeester. Makes just as much sense.

I honestly think this is the worst contract so far today.
Did you miss the playoffs? Because Treliving didn't.

He has a good fit on the Flames, but 1 year too long and 1 million too much. For being a UFA signing, it isn't terrible. It just isn't really good. Tough to find good deals on the guys that go on the first day. It could have been worse.

A year too much for me, and the AAV is a little much as well, but that's the July 1st tax coming in.

It's neither good or horrible, but it's definitely better than some of the deals we've seen today.

Welcome Troy!

I'm very surprised by the amount of hate for this signing. I love it! Pretty close to same money that Colborne was believed to be awarded and Brouwer plays a lot grittier and hard nosed game than Colborne while putting up similar numbers a lot more consistently. Exactly the type of player we need and term and money are some of lowest of the day so far. Great signing!!
