I don't like this at all. Yeah, if you are talking fantasy league value, the Oilers clearly lost that deal. But I think Larsson is one of those really good Swedish defensemen, and Hall is a one-dimensional dimwit, so whatever the fantasy values, the Oilers are much better TEAM than they were a few hours ago.

Well he isnt actually a number 3 on anything resembling a good team, its an edmonton special only.

He's also going to be thrust in over his head on a terrible blue line with the Oilers.

Ekman-Larsson he is not. I think you are very much over-rating Larsson in this assessment. He's young and still has developing to do, and he could very well be ruined by Edmonton.

As for Hall, it will take a couple years to wipe away the bad habits he learned, was taught and was allowed to repeat by the coaches and Lowe over the years.


Have seen that with Cogliano, Lupul etc over the years. By the time he's got that off if him, then he can properly develop as a hockey player as he should've done in a normal situation from the season he got drafted.

I am sure Oiler fans are running him out of town in usual pathetic style. Sounds as if he's pissed at the Oilers so that's a positive.

Guess I'm in the minority but I think the coilers did well.

Hall was dead space on that team and Larsson fills a huge need. He's also young and on a good contract. If Larsson turns out to be a dud then it'll be a bad trade. If he works out - even as a Vlasic type who doesn't put up a lot of points - then they are a much better team IMO.
