Leah is overrated and I always thought it was ridiculous that she's on the panel while Cassie Campbell, a real hockey mind, was stuck doing interview duty

Edit: Brain fart, they are on different shows. Point still stands

Virtually everything of value that ESPN and FS1 broadcast is already on TSN or Sportsnet.

Most everything else would be blocked by regional restrictions. There are separate agreements for Canada and the US in most cases, and TSN certainly would not want to see its investment in NCAA football and basketball undermined by allowing ESPN or FS1 broadcasts in.

What you want is a pipe dream. All it would do is undermine the Canadian networks.

Cassie is a/was a fantastic hockey player.

But she's a horrible broadcaster. Stutters and pauses, can't get her point across clearly, and generally has a lot of 'fluff pieces' than any real news or insight. She's no where near Leah IMO

Maybe this is a step forward for her and was her choice?

Pretty much exactly my thoughts on Cassie as well. I like her though, wish she could fix her stuttering and awkward pauses through interviews.

Meh. We get all 82 games, could care less about a talking head. She seemed liked a nice gal tho. Nice to see she was picked up by ESPN

Sportsnet loves fans like you and evidently thinks their fans are all like you where getting all 82 games is all they need to do to make us happy. Garbage production. Garbage HD. And then they take away the only positive from a Flames broadcast in Hextall. And this is just the beginning. I wonder how much worse they can get.

This is horrible. I was really disappointed when Andi Petrillo wasn't brought on to the SportsNet team and now I'm pissed that Leah Hextall is gone.

She was OK as a host, but I didn't find her that knowledgeable. The replacement will undoubtedly be worse though.

I've got no issue with the picture quality on the broadcasts. Nor do I care what the talking heads say. CP is already 10 steps ahead of what any broadcaster has to say. Usually have the games on mute, listening to Kelly and Rick flirt and giggle isn't what I tune in for.

I wasn't overly high on her like a lot of you guys are, but I thought she did a fine job. Would have much rather seen John Shannon axed.

How does your point still stand? You compared them because they're both female? Even if you don't like Hextall what's that got to do with Cassie Campbell?

One is good and is stuck doing interviews? The other isn't and gets to host a panel?

One is doing national broadcasts and the other one regional? Not comparable at all. You make it sound like doing interviews is a peasants job.

LOL

She isn't good?

Or you don't think she's good because she absolutely tore the Oilers apart for being the enduring joke that they are?

So see-through.

Also it takes a certain skill to be a host. Just because she played hockey all her life doesn't make her a host on TV. Leah has paid her dues working in small markets prior to getting her break in Boston. This is what she's been trained to do.

i wasnt a huge fan either...seemed very irritating at times and was a bit of a homer which i dont like in hosts of shows.

Glad to see Sutter not named as being let go...dude is a tremendous analyst when he gets a chance to do so, particularly on radio.
