Its Italy and Spain. Spain made their name playing the most boring game in the world.

De Gea must be getting into his comfort zone, he's used to bailing out a poor team in front of him and keeping them from embarrassment.

Feel like there has actually be some decent chances and action so far.
De Gea is probably the best in the world when it comes to pure shot stopping.

I think its been an exciting game
Italy very much surprised me this tournament with Conte being so aggressive
Spain are showing their fatal flaw which is no ability to create chances against good defenses unless they are literally throwing out 2 of the best Spanish creators of all time, Xavi is gone and Iniesta is a bit past his prime
new manager after this tournament cant change their tactics soon enough, still so much talent but even Pep stopped playing Tiki Taka

Like England's chances this afternoon. Hopefully this is the tournament they actual play up to their abilities. As an England fan I am not holding my breath though.

Italy will proceed a tough test for the Germans I think. Still unsure as to why Vazquez isn't getting respect for the Italian national team

Thats the thing about it, theres no 'right or wrong' way to win. So if you're a Spanish fan you love the endless buildup that goes nowhere and games with no goals because who cares? At the end of the day you win.
But if you're a neutral fan you can acknowledge that its often effective but just unbelievably boring.
And hence why people enjoy watching Spain lose, even if it is to the Italians. Because at least when Spain are losing their stupid game plan doesnt work and it forces them to actually....you know....play.

Spain look atrocious today, as bad as I've seen from them. I can't remember if they looked this bad when they lost 5-1 to the Netherlands, but that defense is a mess and Italy doesn't exactly have a top front line or anything.

I've never found the Italians boring. They happen to be really good at defense but they're not that defensive tactically. They always have creative midfielders and good wingers.

Yah, Spain is so frustrating to watch I am actually cheering for the Italians. Put an end to these diving, boring clowns.
And just as I type that, Spain gets a gift as that should have been a red card. DIE SPAIN DIE!!!

Not even a free kick either. Terrible non-call.

Yeah that should have been a straight red on Silva - late, studs up, and high on the leg.
I feel like Italy is going to regret all those missed chances.

Italy needs to score another one and put this game away already. Can't let Spain get a lucky one late after dominating the whole game.

Deserved win for Italy. Germany/Italy should be the final, not a Quarter though.

Spain choking it away against Croatia is what ended their tournament. Win that match with the easy side of the bracket and they're probably in the Final. Instead out in the round of 16.
