I think the Flames would have to add to Hamilton to get the 4th. And not a Wideman or Raymond. An actual asset like a 2nd or something.

That said I will gladly be proven wrong.

I would think long and hard about 4th + hall for hamilton. add the 6th on calgary's side, no goddamn way. hall is useless

4th + the tenderness for hamilton, trade the tenderness to columbus for #3. grease clear cap and get what they need, flames pick 3, 4 and 6, and columbus gets their center.

Media outlets then take the text of it, without context, and start talking like it was a legit discussion and say that "experts and insiders are saying Calgary may be shopping Hamilton". Then someone else runs with it and leaves out the "may" part and says "insider told me Flames shopping Dougie".

I'm actually a little disappointed to see that Mac may have added fuel to this fire. He usually shoots them down if they aren't legit. And I have a hard time seeing this as legit, unless maybe Chia asked if Hamilton was available and BT just laughed until Chia hung up in shame.

Pass. I would rather have Hamilton than Tkachuk 100/100 times. Hamilton is going to be a top pairing defender for this organization for years and will be a 50+ point defenseman.

I thought the proposals were 4OA plus hall for 6OA plus DH that doesn't seem to crazy but I still wouldn't want to do it

Agree that 4th + Hall is so bad for the Oilers but no way should the Flames add to Dougie or even consider a 1 for 1 unless they have a blue line plan. Our blueline is in horrible shape next year if we traded Dougie with no one coming back


If Seth Jones wants crazy money I would be interested in a Hamilton for Jones swap as I think extremely highly of Jones

I think Hamilton has more value. Star Dmen are more valuable than wingers. Plus this particular defenseman is RH, only 23, coming off a career season, and projects to get better. Hall is as one dimensional as they get, injury prone, eclipsed 70 points once and dumb. Plus, this is about as good as he gets. 65-80 point winger if he can stay healthy. Dougie >> Taylor.

the easiest step the oilers could take to improve would be to dump that cancer for whatever they could get. he embodies their no goodness and I can't believe they're actually letting mcpancakes be around him when not at the rink.

pure value in a trade, sure hall + 4 is great. but who will help a team win more games over the next 4 seasons (i.e. until brodie's contract is over and tre has likely moved on), give me hamilton every time.
