That doesn't sound like a stretch at this point. The Canucks should be penalized a draft pick and that won't go down well at all in that market.

I seriously doubt it. Trevor Linden was hand-picked by the Aquelini's to restore the Canucks public image within the community, and to implement their vision for hockey in Vancouver. I think both Linden and Benning have a lot of latitude to make blunders abound.

The Canucks are a bottom line team. The reason they won't go full rebuild is that the owner values season ticket sales above all else. That fan base is close to a mutiny.
