You too can enjoy the Coyotes in LV twice each year, when they move to Portland or Seattle or Kansas City.

The NHL still clearly expects to get that other $500 million out of Seattle at some point. The deferral makes sense though - Gives the league time to sort Carolina out. And if that market is saved and/or Seattle drops out entirely, then you take Quebecor's cheque.
And while this could very obviously change, the NHL's message to Quebec City today was "when, not if".

you know there is an entire generation who doesn't know how great a player Jordan was. He's just a crying guy. It's pretty sad.

Did the NHL generously offer to...hold on to Quebec's $500M? Like...for safe-keeping?

It's going to be ####ing amazing to see your tears when the Coyotes finally leave Arizona. And oh, the ####ing irony of it all if they happen to go to QC.

Totally. Super played out at this point too. I don't mean here specifically, just the internets in general.
I understand the reasoning behind the decision, but Vegas getting green-lighted while QC gets shafted bugs me. Think I'm one of the very few who thinks the NHL to LV is a lame idea. Just hate seeing hockey-mad markets getting passed over in favour of areas where no-one gives a crap (even if it makes sense financially). It's the 90s all over again.

Good grief, the draft is 2 days away. Free agency a week or so. We have a new coach and we're in plenty of trade rumours. Lots to talk about. Why are so many people down and angry on here these days? Do some Snoop Leafs and mellow out.

I've gotta think that QC wanted to defer and hope the dollar shifts in their favour. We're talking hundreds of millions plus/minus. They're also probably testing the league's openness to a sale and move (Carolina) anyways.

I didn't know there were so many folks sensitive to the on-goings of the fans in Quebec city.
On a forum where "HAHA Stupid ...insertwhateverhere" is commonplace.
Genuinely happy a Sunbelt city won a team over a Canadian city.
If Quebecor indeed option to defer, then I take it back entirely.

Perhaps its more that this incredibly whiny manifestation of your inferiority complex is annoying, distracting, and derailed the thread?

I'm more than happy to discuss, but stop with the holier than thou nonsense. People here do this all the time but apparently it's a sore subject?
To me, in hindsight outside of my HAHA post which was OBVIOUSLY a joke (Still happy with it for now) It sounds like Quebecor asked the NHL to defer and to save face for Quebecor the NHL deferred for them. Makes sense, I do believe that QC will get a team in the next decade however.

True. They'll probably change the name to "Nordiques" though. "Quebec Coyotes" sounds awful.
