As a non-religious Conservative supporter (though I would be a Democrat supporter in America), I find these beliefs illogical... but, everyone has their own views, and it's good that they can express them.

However, they should not be taught in schools. Certainly not. We need to focus on science, proven science, not individual beliefs.

Nobody should have the right to believe in creationism. It's ignorant, stupid and frankly insulting to the human race. It's the equivalent of sticking your head in cement and letting it dry.

Believe in it if you want, but we're not letting the church of Cthulu or the Church of the flying spaghetti monster be taught in schools either, or Scientology for that matter. Let the hokey religions twist in the wind.

My mum is one. My dad would be as well, were he still alive. Mum even made a point of going to the Creation Museum in the US, the last time she was down there, in that neck of the woods. I imagine if she's heard there's one in Big Valley, here in Alberta, she's probably gone there too. I have no idea, as we don't speak, because she's bat#### crazy.

I don't get creationism, nor wanting it to be taught in schools.

So you should have the right to limit their Charter-guaranteed rights because... why?

Who cares! Creationism to me is the very bottom of the barrel. Rights and Freedoms can only go so far in my estimation, at some point the human race needs to step in and say "no dear child, we've grown beyond this belief, it's time to put this to rest". The charter of rights and freedoms is at a point now where it is being exploited. And Creationism is leading the charge.

Is it protected under the charter of rights and freedoms to freely promote and believe in extemist Islam? Is that not condemned and rightfully so? Creationism is a form of extremism and should be treated as such.

I actually don't believe the numbers. I've never in my life met a real creationist. And I spent summers in Drumheller as a kid. I wasn't allowed to swim in the church pool cause I had a dinosaur bone collection. What they didn't know was I dealt in bones out the back door of Oily's rock shop. You needed a triceratops vertebrae in the big valley you had to come see me. Even Oily couldn't find those. But yeah. No creationists.

I knew one creationist in high school. It was public school too... she tried to claim dinosaur bones were planted by someone for some reason and that the carbon dating evidence could have been skewed due to "the environment".

It was really embarrassing to hear.

I knew one really religious person in University who believed that the reason the dinosaurs died was because they were too big for the Ark.

However, I'm not sure if he was a creationist or not. I imagine he must have been.
He contacted me a few years ago to inform me that his views had changed.

I've met a few biblical creationists through the Alberta evangelical church. They are normally quite prosperous, rational, and industrious folk.

I've been to the Creationist Museum in Big Valley, its...quite creative.

I view Creationism differently, these people put a lot of creative effort into making what they believe true in the face of all available evidence.
