Hasselhoff- cheeseburgers- wednesday.
For whatever reason, I don't like the name Gulutzan. So I have been secretly hoping it wasn't him. That being said, I'm sure B Tizzy knows what he wants in a coach and I got faith in that. It's not like Reirdon is that much better of a name anyways.

A guy that just used B Tizzy in reference to our GM should not be talking about liking or disliking names.

The mob mentality that some posters possess is downright pitiful and degrades the quality of this forum.
In SGs original post he pointed out his concerns with the rumoured hiring of Gulutzan and correlated it to his performance (record) as an NHL coach. Isn't that a reasonable justification? If you are hiring an employee (which the management is) you're damn well going to look at his resume and see what he has accomplished. I'm not agreeing with SG and I haven't read enough of his posts to know whether or not he has an unfounded disdain for Treliving but in this particular instance I can see where his concerns stem from.
This is a forum people. Expect (dare I say welcome) a difference of opinion.

Failure only matters if you stay static...
He seems like a open minded and adaptable person based on a few conferences I've seen with him.
Intelligent people learn from mistakes. They adapt, they gain experience.
BT understands what was lacking in Hartley's system and that we need to play possession based hockey.
After all the potential people BT has interviewed I will believe fully in whoever he hires until I have reason not to.

Sure. But he then says he wanted Kirk Muller as the new head coach. How is Muller's resume better then Gulutzens?

You know who else BT interviewed for the coaching job? Hartley. The year end interview is, at its heart, an interview for the coaching position for the next season. His contract situation doesnt matter, even less because he only had a year left on it.
Did Hartley impress at that interview? Apparently not. Have an appropriate plan or idea how to move the team forward and garner more success in the next season in a way that jibes with how management wants the team to play? Again, in the opinion of the guy that matters most, his boss, no. Did he successfully defend his decisions and actions over the season just past? Again, appears to be a no.
That leads to his being replaced.

As some pointed out SG wasn't happy when Hartley was let go so his frustration as a fan is justified. It's just part of being a fan even if not everyone agrees. I had hoped they would let Hartley finish his term however I started to take the view that maybe Hartley wasn't doing, or not able to do what was asked of him in terms of working towards a puck possession team. Maybe there were some player personal issues that BT and the Flames brass wanted to address in terms of long and short term goals whatever it was we don't have the full picture.

I welcome different opinions, but Stay Golden's initial reaction to this news was not an expression of concern, it was an abrasive and premature objection. I am sure all of us are a little concerned about Gulutzen's track record with Dallas, which isn't stellar (and I will remind critics that neither is it poor). But what the majority of us have not done is made a snap judgment based on his results of 138 games as a NHL head coach.

I don't think anyone really knows for sure. I get the sense that the media were largely tossing out guesses about who was interviewing for the position, and Green looked like a real attractive potential candidate.

If Treliving doesn't bring in better goaltending, this Gulutzen hire may backfire.

Relax. There's still enough in the budget for a Shooter Tutor.

Has Jim Benning and Willie D stank. Not off to a good start if true, but so did Shinkaruk and we burned that off.
Also, this guy's name reminds me of jock-villain Glen Guglia from the Wedding Singer every time I hear it. If he sucks, someone let Billy Idol lock him in an airplane lavatory.

Really like his focus on development. Special teams/possession results are mixed so far in NHL.

Yup and then I have to see 2 morons take shots at my dead Grandmother's and in a classless sexual Manor. Who would think something so demented.
The most recent we just laid her ashes to rest in the Kananskas last month. And then some losers actually like those comments. No wonder I became more heated.
I seriously shake my head at humanity.
I question the character as having none of anyone that would insult a person's Grandparents or parents like that.
As for Gulutzan I tnought defended my reasons but no that's not good enough. Lynch mob mentality is perfect way to sum up some people's behavior.
But if that makes a person feel tall I will never get that.

I don't know a freaking thing about Gulutzan... I'm not even sure if I spelled his name right. But I gotta have faith in Brad so hopefully he's found lightning in a bottle here.

Interested in knowing why you think Muller is a good choice but Gulutzen is not?
