Why do you think Bossey would be #1? Gretzky and Bossey's prime basically overlapped each other's and Wayne easily out scored him.

Bossy scored 573 goals in 10 seasons before his back problems forced him to retire. Gretzky on the other hand scored 894 goals in 20 seasons. Now if Bossy was able to play the same number of seasons it's quite possible he could have scored more goals than Gretzky. Add to that Bossy is the NHL's all-time leader in average goals scored per regular season game.

No doubt but I don't think you can penalize Mario for cancer. Lots of average players have managed to avoid injury so I don't put a lot of stock into being fortunate to avoid injury when talking about greats.

Gretzky was a better goal scorer than Bossey in both their primes. Wayne regressed. You don't think Bossey would have as well? You can't just pro rate.
Wayne had a back injury as well that hampered him after 1991

If you adjust Bossy's best 5 seasons and Igninla's best 5 seasons for era Iggy is just as prolific a goal scorer. Bossy gets over rated because no one got to see a slow decline.

Watching him a bit more these days, he is unreal dominant at both ends of the ice. Physically and mentally.

Only two points in the finals and a -4 for the playoffs. Don't get me wrong he's being a contributor in all areas of the game but I feel it would be a sham if he wins the Conn Smythe.

He won't win the Conn Smythe, but he's a beast there. He is the captain and he shows it, he really rallies his team, like a true captain should.

This was a reputation not performance based pick as the performance on the score sheet wasn't there. Not a single goal in the finals for example. I get that he was a good leader and played a good two way game but they should call that the Samuel Pahlsson 2-way playoff MVP award.

Oh, come on. Sammy Paulsson??
Unlike Pahlsson, Sidney Crosby was dominant every single time he was on the ice. He was regularly matched against the Thornton line, and completely neutered them. He spent most of his time in the offensive zone creating opportunities and skating circles around the Sharks. Yes. Other players appeared more frequently on the scoresheet, but the Penguins do not win the 2016 Stanley Cup without Sidney Crosby.

It was a tougher choice this year than most, as there wasn't a dominant individual performance this year. I thought Sid was the best though, no disrespect to Kessel or Murray or Letang or whomever.
Scoring can't be the only thing. Phil had 3 more points that Sid. Should Couture get it instead?
