didn't he have poor training & nutrition habits? that may have attributed to their 10 year forecasting...

30 years old and featuring on an international team for 6/7 major tournaments is pretty rare for a striker.

Really they were right - he probably isn't good enough on his current form to be named a striker on this squad.

Crazy to try to predict a senior team 10 years out for a tournament though - most of the players would be 15-17 years old at the time of that article.

The USA is playing really well today in Copa America. It's about time Copa America includes north American teams.

Isn't this one a one off? Copa takes place again in 2019 and last did in 2015. That I'm aware of there are no plans to include NA. They should maintain a NA and SA tourney though.

The Gold Cup is an absolute joke compared to Copa America. It makes all kinds of sense to have North and South America included in the Copa America and do away with the Gold Cup altogether.

And it should be done every 4 years just like the Euro.

ESPN saying it's going to continue every 4 years

http://espndeportes.espn.go.com/futb...ede-permanente

I wonder what this means for the gold cup, it will lose any of the luster it had, but also it was used in the past for confed cup qualifying, and also used to qualify for this Copa

I hope if it becomes every 4 years it means that US/Mexico don't get automatic byes in to it, and they make some type of qualifying for it (like how UEFA does for the Euro's)

what's in it for CONMEBOL is $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$, which is why the story even says it will be in the US going forward

I think it's good for both federations

The fact that the only way I can watch this legally in Canada is on Univision in Spanish is a joke though

Why does TSN have 5 channels?
What is Sportsnet World or BeIn showing right now?

it doesn't conflict with the Euro's and starting after this week there's nothing else going on but baseball, someone should have bought the rights

I'm starting to come around to a joint competition but only hosting it in the States just rubs me the wrong way. It's the World's game, we have to share it.

I agree, the Gold Cup fails because it's only hosted in the US or Mexico. It should be spread around to Central America and the Caribbean. The African nations cup has been hosted everywhere from Equatorial Guinea (twice!), Mali, Angola etc... It can't be a cash grab every time.

The Oceania Cup is being held in Papua New Guinea right now!

Its every 2 years so there are many goofy stories. But the rotation is still better than the US hosting it every year. Canada should have hosted a gold cup by now

There should only be 1 Copa America and it should include ALL the Americas (North and South). And it should be held the same year as the Euro but hopefully schedule it so it ends as the Euro begins.

2014 WC
2016 Euro/Copa
2018 WC.
2020 Euro/Copa
Etc...

Solves alot of problems. The lesser tournaments like the Olympics and Confed Cup shouldn't even really count in the cycle. In fact, the confed cup should be done away with. Just like the club world cup (what a joke).

I'm taking my soccer crazy kids to the Argentina game Saturday on our way back home to visit family.

Is there really no way to watch these games in Canada? I am guessing my foxsports login will be blocked out in Canada? Anyone want to point me to a quick and easy way to get around that?

I heard it was on ppv on shaw for $9 a day, not sure how accurate.

I'm watching USA/Ecuador now and some fan is dressed as Douglas MacArthur, one of the oddest/hilarious costume choices Ive seen.
