Default Calgary Flames All-Time Defenseman Rankings #1

Thought this would be a fun exercise. Let's rank the Flames' defensemen through history.

My apologies if this has been done recently, but I don't believe it has been. If it has, let me know.

So, let's do it. We'll do, IDK, 20? If this gains steam, maybe we'll do more. It is the summer.

Post who you want to see added to the poll.

Al MacInnis.

No poll needed.

Reinhart should have been included as well.

If you are doing top 20 (the OP wasn't clear), you can probably assume that MacInnis and Suter will go #1 and #2.

I would also add Housley, Reinhart, McCrimmon, Hamrlik and Macoun.

Might as well add Zalapski, Patrick, Phaneuf, Bouwmeester, Konroyd, Aucoin, Musil.

After the top 5-10, it's really a mish-mash.

So the question on CP as always with no brainer polls like this is who will be the first poster to vote differently to be special?

Fatty Morris should also be on the list.
Woudl also add Phil Russel and maybe Steve Chiassonn (RIP)

Are there any Hall of Famers other than McInnis and Housley?

MacInnis now.
A decade from now it will be TJ Brodie.

Yeah... no. Completely different players for starters but MacInnis was a top 3/5 guy for years and years. TJ is maybe Top 15/20 now, which is great but I have a hard time imagine him becoming a perennial Norris candidate like Al was. It's okay that Brodie won't be as good as the best dman on team history, he's awesome in his own right.

MacInnis finished his Flames tenure with something like a +250 (I am too lazy to look up the exact number).

That just seems unreal now. Granted, MacInnis played on some pretty stacked teams. IMO, he isn't just the best Flames defenseman of all time, but you could make a pretty good case for him being the best Flames player of all time.
