Treliving focused on group of 4 players at 6th pick

			http://www.tsn.ca/video/treliving-fo...th-pick~884372
says they are focusing on a group of 3 or 4 players they think will be available at 6
if he were to make an assumption right now, he would say that he will pick at #6 but looking at trade up and trade down scenarios

definitely in the market for a goaltender
acquisition cost will definitely be a big factor

expect it to be a busy summer

nothing imminent

Haha, I wonder how many times Brad has said "We go through the process" in his interviews.

We knew most of what was in that video, nothing new, I just wish that Brad came out and told the rankings of the players they had, the goalie they wanted and how much they are willing to give, everything that is being discussed behind closed doors the draft cannot come soon enough and the Stanley Cup Finals are just too dam long, why do you need 2.5 weeks?

There is absolutely no way BT releases any of that info. Doing so would seriously damage any leverage he may have.

This is going to be a fun summer. I understand why there is a cap but it is unfortunate that it has limited player movement over the years.
Expansion draft is going to put players in the trade market that normally wouldn't be available. Considering teams with 2 good goalies can only protect 1 I think the flames are in a great position to acquire a good goalie. They can always leverage the team they are trading with and tease signing Reimer which could result in the Penguins trading Fleury for far less than they would like.

I don't think the flames should touch their D. If anything they should try and subtract Smid and Wideman. Gio, Brodie, Hamilton is a good top 3. Jokkipakka and Engellend are decent bottom pairing options. This leaves a spot for one of Wotherspoon, Nakladal, Kulak, Anderssen, Kylington.

Up front if we can save 7 forwards we currently have
 1.Gaudreau
 2.Monahan
 3.Bennett
 4.Backlund
 5.Frolik?
 6?
 7?
I have 3 potential question marks where the flames could add some talent up front. Frolik is a good player but his cap hit could be expendable down the road so I have him as 50/50 protection.

It is really unfortunate the flames have some horrible contracts on the books with Stajan, Smid, Wideman, Raymond, Bollig. If the team had more cap space they would be in a great position to improve rapidly considering they have 3 2nds, and the free agent pool is relatively deep in comparison to other years

Could the Flames rent those question marks to another team? Trade a 5th and a player to be named later for a 2nd and a player, lo and behold same player gets named and shipped back after the draft?

Side deals are common in expansion drafts.. lots of "pick this guy from X team and we will trade you X for him " or "don't pick X player and we will do X after ".. lots of that

			I'm guessing the 4 are:
 Dubois, Tkachuk, Nylander and Juolevi.

Although Dubois and Tkachuk are the only 2 that I feel sure about. I feel that guys like Chychrun, Sergachev, Brown and Jost are probably up there on his list and maybe higher than Nylander and Juolevi.

Obviously the top 3 are assumed to be gone if we draft at 6th as is likely the case.

So you are okay for giving away Jankowski, Ferland, Colborne, Shinkaruk, Porier for a 2nd round pick?

Frolik, like Stajan would be pretty save to be left unprotected. He is not a front line player who is going to sell tickets but getting paid front-line $.

Bouma would have a lot better chance of getting picked up than Frolik.

I'm not too sure if you watched any Flames hockey last season at all, but I can say with a fair degree of confidence that Bouma would absolutely NOT have a better chance of getting picked up than Frolik.
