Well, that was awesome.
Even more power consolidated under Daenerys for the coming war.
Snow and Stark reunited to make a claim on Winterfell.
Peter Baelish puppet masters his way into getting the Vale to back the Starks.
Tyrell and Lannister combine to take back King's Landing from the religious fanatics.
Some weird power dynamics in Meereen, but I think it will be interesting in the end. Might put Tyrion at odds with Daenerys in the future.
And absolutely no mention of Dorne.

Converging storylines! Finally!
Honest to god, how long has it been since two members of the Stark family spoke? Back when Bran and Rickon separated like 2 seasons ago?

Great episode. No Sam. Progression.
Pleasantly surprised with this season so far. Much better than last year.

The khals, the khals, the khals are on fire!
Khaleesi needs no water let the mother####ers burn!
Burn mother####ers! Burn!
But that didn't even matter. None of the rest of the show mattered. Stark reunion! 11/10, would watch again.

I guess George RR Martin was not really consulted on this episode. He has said specifically that Dany is NOT fireproof.
From Reddit:
Quote:
Granny: Do Targaryens become immune to fire once they "bond" to their dragons?
George_RR_Martin: Granny, thanks for asking that. It gives me a chance to clear up a common misconception. TARGARYENS ARE NOT IMMUNE TO FIRE! The birth of Dany's dragons was unique, magical, wonderous, a miracle. She is called The Unburnt because she walked into the flames and lived. But her brother sure as hell wasn't immune to that molten gold.
Revanshe: So she won't be able to do it again?
George_RR_Martin: Probably not.

She was okay with the hot water in the first episode and was also okay when the Dragons burnt off her chains in the house of the undead. She also mentioned her brother wasn't a true dragon as because fire killed him. So her being immune to fire has been well established on the show.

Agree great episode. We got a Stark reunion, Littlefinger is back and is manipulative as ever, and got to end with some naked Emilia Clarke (They're real and they're spectacular!).
I am curious though, what happened to the Lannister army? I am assuming they would still be the largest in Westeros, shouldn't they also be coming to Kings Landing to fight in the upcoming civil war? Are they putting down revolts in the Riverlands and/or Stormlands or on their way to Dorne?

To add to this, when one of the many titles you have is "Unburnt" I think it is to safe to say your somewhat fireproof

Ok so we have Jon and the Wildlings most likely heading to Winterfell to fight but we know they are outnumbered by Ramsay's men by about 3000. So how many men are heading up there with Littlefinger and company? Also is there a chance the Ironborn will show up there if Theon's sister becomes King? Could help even or overpower Ramsay and Co.

The Boltons have also the Karstarks and presumably the Umbers, after their betrayal of handing over Rickon, as bannermen now, as well. That leaves just a few houses in the north, like House Mormont, as still loyal to House Stark.
The Starks are going to need House Arryn to reclaim Winterfell.

You think the Umbar's are going to stay loyal to Bolton? I suspect when they see a couple Stark's leading an army, they may just flip sides.

My wife and I were wondering that too. Our thinking was that perhaps she agreed for that scene since it was so powerful and also mirrors her scene coming out of the funeral pyre in season one.

Apparently it was a body double, a la Lea Hedly last year.

I'm also hoping Dany just rolls hard with her gigantic Khalasaar, sweeps through the slaver bay cities nice and quick (grabbing a fleet at that time?) again and get to Mereen. There she can have some conflict with Tyrion over his proposal to the slave masters, get it dealt with and set aside and then they can set sail for Westeros. Be nice to have her on the way to Westeros or perhaps even setting foot on its soil by the end of the season.

The interview I read said that she didn't say she wouldn't ever do nudity (that was a report that people had assumed was her). If it was meaningful in the plot or whatever she's fine with it.
I guess this scene too was done differently, her part done on a closed set in one place then combined with the crowd part afterwards.
