things you see in the world championships that you never see in the NHL.
France just got called for too many men for the 3rd time in the same game. And it wasn't close any of those times. Not just a guy changing late, fully 6 guys in the center of the ice.
And it's still 2-2.

It's really crazy that they are now on the Kazakhstan national team. The three are linemates in the KHL for Barys in Kazakhstan and clearly like playing together and the country enough to change over. I liked Dawes and Boyd for the flames even if they never really lived up to what I expected. Will be interesting to see how they do in this tournament being some of the go to guys for that team

Finland's goalie is wearing #19. This bothers me greatly.

Laine breaks the 18 year old player point record in the World Championships.
4+2 in 2 games, record holder used to be a guy named Jaromir Jagr, with 3+2 in 10 games.

Maybe so if Toronto weren't in a dire need of a franchise center.

Matthews also had 2+1 against Belarus. Pointless against Canada, but he's probably going to break that 5 point record by Jagr just as easily as Laine.

That would suck for Matthews. Got lucky by dodging the Oilers, then good possibility he ends up in the biggest hockey market in the world (endorsement dollars!!!), then end up in Winnipeg.

Just keep repeating those lines, and it will help.

Btw I quite like this format for the tournament. There's enough teams in the divisions, so the "smaller" nations aren't there just to get whipped by the "big" ones. Too bad I don't have time to catch more games.

Is the record for 18-year-olds or players eligible for U18?
EDIT: I think it's for U18s, not just 18-year-olds. Matthews is too old I think.
