The worst part for Jordan is he can't even run away after this if he doesn't win. He's gotta put the jacket on which has to be brutal as can be.

Willett certainly knew he shorted that putt with the reaction. Good thing for him it was a 12 footer. Jordan being Jordan, watch him get a hole in one at 16.

Well that's a nice win for Danny Willett. Made a great shot on 17 to keep himself out of reach.

This is Speiths punishment for being an agonizingly slow player. If my old man was still on this planet you'd hear him screaming hit the god d#•* ball already.

Now the only question is will Speith try and pull the Shooter McGavin and run off with the Green Jacket.

It would be fitting since he had to play in the final pairing with a guy named Smylie.

I love how CBS ignored the first half of Willet's round today despite him being near the top of the leaderboard all day.

I'd put this ahead of Norman but not Van de Velde as far as chokes go. Van de Velde was just stupid shot after stupid shot when he could have hit three wedges and three putt and won.

The second ball that Spieth put in the water was a familiar sight for me. What a chunk.

Speith needs to be put on the clock on the first tee. Poster child for slow play.

What exactly is the rule regarding being put on the clock.

If he's more than a hole behind is that it? Or does he have to be slowing play down.

And was the reason he wasn't put on it during rounds 3&4 because he was the last group?

It's time to play a hole. You get a warning and then you get 'put on the clock'.

I caddied in the last two ATB tournaments and the group and I was walking with was given a bad time once in 8 rounds. It really messes the players up, they get all freaked out.

Yeah he was brutal this weekend. We watched the 3rd round DVRed on Saturday and made a drinking game out of every time he would back off a shot.

There's already a problem with hackers and weekenders thinking they need to analyze shots like pros do. Spieth could start a whole new plague of slow play. "The wind changed. Better re-load."

I'd have alcohol poisoning if I played a drinking game like that...

Basically, two things have to happen for a group to be put on the clock.

1. They have to be over a 4 hour 38 minute pace in a threesome or 4 hour 1 minute pace in a twosome. It's about 15 1/2 minutes per hole as a threesome or 13 1/2 minutes per hole as a twosome.

2. They reach a par 3 that is open and free for play (no one on the green) or reach a par 4 or 5 and don't all put a ball in play before the rest of the hole is open.

So in this case, what happened was:

Spieth's group arrived at 11 in 3 hours and 7 minutes, which is a 5 hour 36 minute pace, and before all three balls were put in play off the tee, the group ahead cleared the 11th green. That's why they were put on the clock.

Once they're put on the clock, they have 40 seconds each to take a shot. If a player takes longer than 40 seconds to take a shot, they're assessed a one-stroke penalty. Also, if they don't make an effort to help their group get back in position, they're assessed a one-stroke penalty. After that it's an additional two-stroke penalty. If it happens a third time, they are disqualified.

Nothing ruins a good game of golf more than slow play. I've played in a few foursomes that take 5.5 hours, but a twosome? I wonder how that is even possible. Most of the time when I play with slow people its because they are 3 fairways over every tee shot and have to go look for their ball. If you have two guys and can essentially walk directly to your shot every time I don't understand how you could be playing a 5.5 hour round.

Good on them for putting them on clock.

EDIT: When there was all the talk of how slow they were playing, all I could think of was that scene in 'I love you man', where the guy just starts yelling "PACE OF PLAY! PACE OF PLAY!" /cool story bro

Didn't realize it, but looks like Spieth's group was actually put on the clock on Thursday and Friday. I'm guessing Casey and the rookie weren't contributing to the slow pace.

Ha ha, this picture pretty much sums up how "meticulous" this guy is-
