For all those Flames fans upset with this win - remember the hockey gods never reward losers. Just look at the no-goods to the North if you need any evidence!

I blame MIN pulling Dubnyk halfway through the game to ruin his shutout. Inconsiderate jerk move Torchetti
Go Jets I guess. Bah just wanted to lose one of the last two games.

That's not how this works. Get off your pedestal.
Had the Flames beat the Canucks to end the 13/14 season, we'd have picked Dal Colle instead of Bennett.
This hurts the Flames. It sucks. There's nothing we can do about it.

Everyone moping around that the Flames are going to pick later in the draft can take a hike. I won't cheer for a team of quitters who mail it in just so they can get a better draft pick. Good win, let's hope for a bit more of them next year, and let me be the first one to say welcome to the Flames organization whoever they pick this summer!

Celebrated Square Root Day
|
Wow, that win could end up hurting really bad. It singlehandedly could move us back to ninth depending on the lottery. I'm certainly not one to cheer for the tank but this last day of the season could have impacted us to pick anywhere from 1st to 9th (including the lottery) and this win put us way closer to the bottom of the too ten than the top.
EDIT: The odds to move down to 8th/9th are actually way smaller than I thought after looking it up.

Its actually low. 3 teams below 6th jumping and moving to 1st, 2nd, 3rd are slim. We likely stay at 6th, maybe 7th.
Relax folks. Adding a guy like Dubios, Chychurn, Nylander will still be really good in the long run.

How strong is very strong, Ashax?
|
1.7% if the Jets lose... 1.7% is a very strong possibility now. Didn't get the memo?

Get us a freakin goalie Treliving, and get rid of Wideman somehow.

Winning is better than losing. That's why we need a Fin, so we can finish better than 25th in the league.

It's like the Flames are cursed to almost always pick 6th during rebuilds. It's no wonder we've never won a lottery.
How many times have we had the 6th pick now? At least 4 since 1995 I think.
But at least 3 players who won't be in the NHL in 2 years scored/played well tonight (Bollig, Siellof, Backstrom).

If the Flames had lost their final games before the 2013 draft they may have gotten Mackinnon. Instead we "settled" for Monahan. The hockey gods work in mysterious ways.

Seemed to reward the Hawks, Pens, and Kings alright. Just because the Oilers are terrible at developing franchise players doesn't mean the Flames are.
