Default Canucks fan suing for puck to the face

This will be interesting, and I always figured that this was not a concern for the franchises in sports due to the waivers. I don't know how successful he will be, but the lawsuit is filed anyway:

http://news.nationalpost.com/sports/...t-rogers-arena

Quote:
He accuses the Vancouver Canucks, Aquilini Investment Group Limited Partnership, Vancouver Hockey General Partner Inc. and Pacific Coast Arena Inc. of “negligence and/or breach of statutory duty” on a number of fronts including “failing to take reasonable care to ensure the Plaintiff would be safe” and “failing to comply with the provisions of the Occupiers Liability Act”.

Serious injuries to his "head, neck, back and shoulders", eh?

Dude is really trying to puff that lawsuit up.

Great. He'll ruin hockey for the rest of us with 12 foot glass and 360 degree netting.

Maybe I'm wrong, and correct me if I am, but I am pretty sure that on the back of the ticket, there is some fine print there about this that probably covers the NHL and Canucks organization. Something about incurring at your own risk, I think?

At least at the Saddledome, Beasley always warns about the dangers of flying pucks before puck drop as well.

Maybe its time to put a big dome over the ice, I mean the drawbacks are that we wouldn't be able to hear the on ice action, they wouldn't be able to hear the fans.

Gee martha I think he hit the post. How do you know, did you hear it Sammy? No darling the puck bounced all funny like.

I have the design right here

Well it seems the Canucks attract the type of customers they deserve.

After that Alberta road trip, he should be suing for the shot to the 'nads he has taken from the Nucks. They should have fans sign a waiver before inflicting that effort on spectators.
At least there are no riots...yet.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

If you're a canucks fan for long enough you'll eventually see yourself become a fan of another team, or become the bad fan that they deserve.

Won't matter if you can prove negligence. But I am not a lawyer.

um, I am not on this guys side, but a little over kill?

I would reserve those statements for someone who murders someone potentially, not someone who attempts to unjustifiably sue a rich organization.

What do you mean sue? What are you talking about? Sue who?

All I read was "Canucks fan" and then typed out my post. Is there more to this story?
