Should Kenney also demur, there is one more name being touted as someone who could defeat MacKay — Stephen Joseph Harper.
I can't see it.......but you never know.

Personally, I am all in for Bernier.

Why not just leave Rona Ambrose as the head? They want a Quebecer or someone from Ontario?

I went to school with Leitch, she'd be a decent candidate

They just don't think Stifler's mom is the right choice for the leader.

Harper coming back as leader seems unlikely, but I would guess he'd easily win if he put himself in the race.

What ever happened to Bernard Lord? I remember his name being floated around as a potential leadership candidate a few years back.

I personally like Michael Chong quite a bit, but jeeze, that's a rough slate. Wall would also be a poor choice. The guy has zero appeal beyond Saskatchewan and Alberta.

He was a terrible premier of NB and killed any hopes he might have had at a higher office.

Wall wouldn't be enough of a break from Harper either.

A friend of mine from Ontario has started campaigning for Leitch.

Being one of the co-sponsors of the "barbaric cultural practices" tip line gives her some baggage right from the start, so it will be interesting to hear how she deals with that on her record.

Not to mention the lack of French and the grenades he's tossed at Quebec over equalization payments (fair or not) would probably sink him in the East when it came to election time.

Can you elaborate on that? A quick wiki search only said he accomplished his 20 promises in 200 days during his first mandate. His second mandate he closed some hospital beds...but that's all that is said.

I thought a fluent bilingual non-Quebecer would have broad appeal across the country.

Kevin O'Leary please.

I want our own Trump-esque side-show.

Maxime Bernier is going to make a run for it. He is a little different than recent Conservative party leaders as he is close to being a Libertarian. He is a Quebecer that I think many in the west would get behind. He is very intelligent, has lots of experience, and is known for being a very hard working a charitable person.
