Agreed, looks like a win tonight and a loss on Saturday. Just hope some teams around the Flames can pick up points over the next few days as well.

I would make these the lottery odds. So moving anywhere around the bottom 8 teams has very little effect on your odds. Teams would be less likely to think about throwing away games with it only affecting chances a percent or two, or not at all. I don't know why something similar to this isn't already the system.
Edit: Edit: nvm. right thread.

Not to single you out but this is extremely short sighted.
We're talking one win, maybe 5 mins of gratification after the game where you get to be happy and maybe laugh at a canucks fan or two vs. Potentially franchise changing draft position that can literally change the course of this team for the next 10 years....
Plus it's not like you need an extra reason to laugh at a Canucks fan.

Man am I getting sick of this back and forth.
If you want to cheer for a win against a rival do it. I get it. If you want to hope for a good game, but 2 Vancouver points because of the lottery, do it. You're a fan and you can make the call.
This on and on and on need to claim moral superiority for this is killing me.

I think I'll be taking a break from CP until after the season is over. This incessant arguing about wins vs loses is just becoming too much to bear.
Have a great week everyone and I'll see you all after the season.
GO FLAMES GO.

What else do you want to talk about?
there's nothing else going on this season for Flames fans besides the draft lottery and individual point totals....

IMO, cheering for a loss to better the Flames is more supporting the team we all love. Would you ever hope for a worse draft pick? Hoping for a win is exactly that. If there weren't any ramifications to a win/loss then it's a no brainer. A loss is a positive thing unfortunately at this stage of the season and of little consequence. The only part of this statement I worry about is building a losing culture like Edmonton has, however I think this statement/mindset kicked in for Edmonton long before the last 2-3 games of their season. They had this mindset for the final 25-30 games and that is what results in the Oilers now.

LOL, I always laugh when people talk about the "losing culture" because even though in my own mind I'm a big deal, I am willing to bet that the players on the Flames don't listen to me or even care what I think. I want the Flames to lose because of draft ramifications but the players want to win because they like to win and they don't care if I want them to lose.
The coach, management and ownership are not going into the dressing room and telling the team to purposefully lose. If every fan on CP wanted the Flames to lose a game, it wouldn't have any factor on what happens inside the dressing room.

Don't worry. The Flames never beat the Canucks when I'm in attendance.

Maybe you're the problem MissTeeks! damn you and the losing culture you bring to the dome!
I just want to see a good game, if Hiller Hillers it up for the Flames, I hope whoever's in net for the canucks Hillers it up too and we see a high scoring, wide open game.

There's been conflicting reports. Early in the day, Hiller was thought to be starting, but it's since been confirmed that Ortio is the starter tonight.

Pratt asked what Benning's #1 priority is in turning the #Canucks around. Benning talked about instilling a winning attitude and culture.

I don't think anyone has a problem with talking about point totals and the draft.
It's the need to pull a Kevin Lowe and rank fans in order of morality (not spend habits) because of their view on game out comes.
A fan isn't a concrete thing, many shades of grey.

If Hiller got the start it would be a 6-5 pick'em.
With Ortio in net we are likely looking at 4-1 Flames win. GFG!
