The Flames better not do anything remotely similar to that whenever the Dome closes.

That was just way too long and way too terrible.

What's the point of the fireworks outside the arena? No one can see them! Pull an NHL 2000 and have them inside! At ice level! Like the video game!

We will close the dome by skating around with the Stanley Cup

So great to see everyone who ever played for the Edmonton Oilers in one place.

I mean, besides in their front office.

It must be inspiring for Taylor Hall to see all these legends who've achieved the goal he's only dreamed of: Being a former Edmonton Oiler.

Well, the way this ceremony is going, at least Edmonton fans will finally get another chance to watch the Oilers in May.
Hahahaha amazing!

The biggest problem was the length. Bringing in every player who played 5 minutes for the club and then interviewing a bunch of them after just dragged the entire thing far too long. And the banner thing at the end was pretty strange.

If they would've cut back the ceremony by about 30 minutes or so it could've been much better. Just bring a few guys out, maybe a few interviews, some montage of some sort and you're good to go. But it was overkill.

I'm sure Oiler fans loved it though. It was about 2 hours of Oiler memories.

Replacement

Nobody that's an Oilers fan would find much to enjoy in an hour long introduction of 200 players with the vast majority being unrecognizable even to current diehard Oiler fans.

I guess its considered a nice touch introducing everybody but on a ceremony that was supposed to be 1hr long that was 1hr long on its own, just the intros. Its as if nobody thought how long it was going to take to introduce a couple hundred people Half the guys seemed embarrassed to have to walk down the aisle knowing that nobody but their mother would remember who they were.

Then the one announcer with the lame jokes. The weird interviews.

I dunno. this stuff is really tired. Glad I didn't spend hundreds of bucks. tbh I would have left. Or at least wandered around awhile during the interminable boredom of the postgame ceremony. That thing didn't end till nearly 10;30 and with people arriving at 3:30.

That isn't a game, its a work shift.

For sure I didn't get it. This nostalgia thing is done, move on.

Good God... if this is what they do for closing an arena...what are they going to to when they *open* the new arena?!?!

Oh, then why didn't you care if the Oilers won? Leafs actually have a good chance of finishing last now and picking no worse than 4th.

Because I don't cheer for a better draft pick with the Leafs, I cheer for wins. I like watching the Oilers because sometimes I need a good laugh.

I found that game hilarious because both the Nucks & Oilers are so bad. I'm getting too sad in watching the Leafs lose these days, even for a better pick, so sometimes I decide to watch other games that I can watch with a lighter heart instead.
