I sure hope Backlund and Colborne have found themselves, and can continue this type of play from here on out somewhat consistently. If so they could be really nice complimentary/depth pieces to a Cup contending team.

For me I want to see a full season from Ortio before we start handing out #1 labels. He's been playing well but at the same time he hasn't felt the pressure of being in a playoff race, which to me is huge. Get him signed as the backup and let Ortio work more on his game.

We won't know for about 5 years. He's not going to be next season's THE goalie.

I haven't seen much bad from ortio overall. It's the lousy team in front who fails to score.

So if the Flames were to acquire Bishop and their was an expansion draft, I assume they would risk losing Gillies?

Top half in the NHL in goal scoring.
Dead last in goals given up.
Team defense/goaltending are by far the largest issue with this club.

Yes it would. The next best thing would be the Flames learning some lessons from handing out dollars and term to non core players.
