Because no one in their right mind would expect a rational human beings reaction to the CIA's plan to be 'let's kill hundreds of Pakistani health care workers and cause the deaths of thousands of Pakistani kids, that'll teach the americans!'

And it wasn't a bunch of spies, it was one doctor. They were only really trying to get info from one house.

It wasn't just the Taliban that banned vaccinations. It was regular citizens in small villages all around Pakistan, Afghanistan, Nigeria and elsewhere. And it wasn't about sticking it to the Americans. It was and continues to be simple distrust. That's why the CIA no longer engages this tactic. The estimates are that this caused polio eradication to be set back 20 years and possibly 100k cases worldwide and is certainly responsible for the spike in cases in Pakistan in 2012. That is entirely on the cia. Saying an uneducated populous should get a clue and not worry about having their chains yanked is ignorant on your part.

You expected a few people to say good riddance when reading the headline "65 dead, mostly children"?

Maybe don't worry about others intelligence.

if they carried on using the tactic now, after knowing how irrational the response was I'd agree with you, but they are not responsible for the irrational response in the first place.

Anti-Christian open hatred? Must have missed those hate posts.

And absolutely ridiculous to think anyone would say good riddance to terror attack victims. Maybe worry about your own intelligence or think before you post.

It was actually hepatitis b vaccines. The hep b vaccine comes in 3 stages. They extracted DNA from a targeted group of children during that process.

Polio vaccines are given orally. So using them to extract DNA wouldn't work.

The reason polio is on the rise is due to the backlash, not the vaccine program itself. The CIA didn't directly deny anyone vaccines. Although yes taking advantage of a medical operation for military means more or less breaks all the rules of war. Pretty inexcusable, but you should get your facts straight.

The Taliban in Pakistan and other militants banned the Polio Vaccine after the Hep b fake vaccine program was known to have been a sham. They also killed A lot of workers giving the polio vaccine thinking they might be American spies.

They were trying to work out who lived in a big house in Attabad, they figured if they could get DNA from the kids in the house they could tell if it was Osama Bin Laden, to do this they set up a fake vaccination program in the town, went around offering vaccinations in some neighbourhoods, putting up posters etc order that when they knocked on the door of Osamas house they could get DNA from the five or six kids in there and see if they were bin ladens. It didn't work as the kids mothers wouldn't allow them to get vaccinated anyway.

Other than the subsequent backlash the whole idea was an elegant way to avoid just blowing a house to hell with no knowledge of who was in it, which was the alternative being proposed. By CIA standards it was incredibly light footed ironically.

Saying that at this point only underlines that you are an idiot or a bigot who is being deliberately obtuse so you can hold on to your incredibly stupid worldview.

You don't even deserve an answer, because this topic is seriously talked to death. You deserve to be mocked, and you should just shut up while adults are talking.

This is what i was referring to earlier, even on Christian holidays this park would have been mostly full of Muslims.
"Even though the group said it had deliberately targeted Christians "celebrating Easter", it has emerged that most of those killed in Lahore were Muslims."

I understand that the real front lines of the struggle is between is between moderate Muslims and violent radicals. And I keep waiting for the moderates to reject and denounce the radicals in a meaningful way. But in Brussels and elsewhere, the radicals continue to find refuge and protection in the broader Muslim community. They aren't identified and turned in to police. ntil that happens, until those terrorists hiding out are routinely turned in to authorities by their neighbours and brother-in-laws, I'll remain skeptical the moderate Muslims are willing to put their money where their mouth is in this struggle.

A Belgian film and theater director named Ismaël Saidi has written a succinct, heartfelt response to a troubling question that Muslims often hear after an Islamist terrorist attack: “Why aren’t Muslims condemning the terrorist attacks en masse?” Saidi, who was born in Belgium to Moroccan parents, published his riposte on Facebook, where it was liked more than 15,000 times, and the Belgian newspaper La Libre has reprinted it. Saidi gave Slate permission to publish the post as well. My rough translation, which is hopefully a little more idiomatic than Facebook’s automatic translation, is below.

“Why aren’t Muslims taking to the streets en masse to condemn the attacks?”

Because we’re driving the taxis that have been taking the population home for free since yesterday …

Because we’re caring for the wounded in hospitals …

Because we’re driving the ambulances that are racing through the streets like shooting stars to try to save what life remains in us …

Because we’re at the reception desks of the hotels that have been welcoming onlookers for free since yesterday …

Because we’re driving the buses, the trams, and the subway cars so that life can continue, though wounded …

Because we’re still looking for criminals in our police, investigator, and magistrate outfits …

Because we’re crying for our dead, too …

Because we are no more spared than anyone else …

Because we are doubly, triply bruised …

Because the same faith produced the executioner and the victim …

Because we’re groggy, lost, and we’re trying to understand …

Because we spent the night on our doorstep waiting for a person who won’t come back again …

Because we’re counting our dead …

Because we’re in mourning …

The rest is only silence …

You don't even deserve an answer, because this topic is seriously talked to death. You deserve to be mocked, and you should just shut up while adults are talking.

In the holy bible there are 36 offenses that qualify for capital punishment. among these are cursing your parents, premarital sex, being a witch, worshiping any other god, and many more crazy things.

If a large group of Christians started killing people for things like this how long before "moderate" Christians stop them in their tracks?.

The only way this ends well is if the large group of Muslims rise up and fight back. Banning laws like Sharia would be a great start.

And, in the real world, there are these people, who are actually trying to make a difference and need support.
