Wrote a recap of this game tonight, which was fun. Of course, that involved watching this whole boring game, which wasn't fun... but at least I was writing, which was fun.

Also I thought Ortio had a strong game. Johnny seemed to turn it over more than usual tonight

Still seething over that god-awful play by Stajan that led to the Hawks 2nd goal.
He has no pressure when he takes over the puck behind his own net. Then despite no pressure he stops, then passes directly in front of the Flames net right to Kevin, who has 2 Hawks bearing right down on him as he gets the Stajan pass.
Is it any wonder Kevin turned it over? That was a mind-numbingly terrible decision by Matty.
Heard he took a huge elbow from Mikko Koivu in that Wild game. Did that elbow knock him completely stupid or something? And was that elbow super dirty from Koivu?

He's been junk all season. The Flames are paying him a million bucks per 4.4 points. That's some awfully expensive locker room leadership.

Just answer my question about the elbow. Unless you don't know.

Cant complain about the game tonight too much.
Bollig was useless as ever, seems to get more minutes than he should. Stajan was awful, We need to consider cutting ties with him. I like the guy, but he does not help this team win. With what he is paid he is over paid!
Brodie made a major screw up tonight. I can forgive probably the best player on this team for that.
Ortio was solid. All I want is a goalie that gives us a chance to win. He did that tonight!
Good effort versus a good team. We lost, but had chances to win. Good game. The result? Helps our draft. Wont cheer for a loss, I want to see effort from the players, lots of it tonight.
Good game!

What the hell man? I had the game PVR'd and ready to watch for when I come home after a night of drinking. The menu says Flames vs Hawks. The recording says Flames vs Hawks. Yet it records Oilers vs Kings. What the ####??? God I hate cable

actually thought stajan had a really strong game tonight, especially on the PK where his agressive play created a few great scoring opportunities. Honestly i think his efforts, as well as the great chemistry between Frolik and Backlund are responsible for the suprising amount of SHG recently

Ok. So... sometimes people on CP use the words furious and seething. This I find very odd.
Do we really harbour this degree of anger about what is nowhere near the most egregious error in a meaningless game?
This play I let go very soon after it happened, if for no other reason than because it is so low on the list of disappointing plays by Flames players this season.
Good game on the whole tonight. Chicago did not win so much as the Flames lost the game. And Chicago was frustrated. They won because Brodie gifted them a goal
Felt bad for Ortio. Stats nerds calculate .920 and call it average but Ladd's high slot freebie is a blue bird. Ortio was fantastic tonight.

definitely had several highlight reel saves. Including several within seconds in the second (i think, might have been first). Definitely would have been alot worse without him in net.

Forgive me.
I'm just generally disappointed in Stajan's play this year as IMO it's really dropped off badly from last year and I care about how he can help this team going forward. I also care about how well he can play at this point in his career. He's what some say expendable but I can't see anyway he has any value trade wise to any other team, even at 50% retained salary.
Quite frankly, he's looking like he's totally well past his best before date when he plays this year more often than not. I could be wrong and I hope I am, but that's what it looks like.
I'm seriously thinking it's a good idea for the Flames to buy him out at this point.

I get where you are coming from.
Good team guy who accepts the role he is given but the longer term fit is a question, which makes the short term fit a question since the short term picture is golf.
Tonight's errors aside, they really need to fix the wing situation

This is the last bit of games for Stajan in a Flames uniform.
I suspect he's bought out in the offseason.
