Buying what exactly? The bodies that are there are going to ask his Advisor if he is willing to sign tonight and begin contract talks?

No mention of Gilmour's 'advisor'?

Conroy said they did exactly that; arriving in person with contract in hand at the chance/expectation Gaudreau and Arnold would sign. And as far as I'm aware, in order for them to pitch to the players, they need their advisor present due to the NCAA/NHL regulations.
So yes, they do.

I think we can safely call them Agents now. The players don't have any NCAA eligibility to lose.

The nothing imminent thing. I expect a signing this weekend. If nothing wasn't imminent they could have done this the good old fashioned way and faxed the contract in. Why send bodies if they weren't intent on getting a signature?

Unfortunately for Gilmour, I doubt any media are asking their Flames sources about him.

I wouldn't read too much into it. Nothing imminent is just pro sports talk for nothing to report at this time.
The Flames have sent bodies there to impress on Jankowski that he is important to them. If they were truly 100% confident that he will sign then they would have faxed him a contract, although I am sure they have a high degree of confidence they will sign.

Do the Flames need to wait until Gilmour and/or Jankowski graduate? If so, the should be close to writing their finals, no?

They don't have to wait for them to graduate. College players get signed all the time before completing their degrees. Hanowski had to write a final in Calgary.

Well, the players wouldn't likely join the Flames until they graduate, if they plan on graduating anyways.

If the difference is missing out on up to a $92.5k signing bonus and playing in their first NHL game(s), most players will miss a few weeks of school. And if graduations was a concern they can always sign a contract that starts for next season.

Yup - worst case they fail / withdraw from a couple of their final courses and finish the credits some other time.

If you fail an entire semester's worth of classes, you cannot finish another time. A degree is not issued unless you maintain a minimum GPA.
Its too late to withdraw. Like I said, finals should be happening soon.

Man, you just may just hold the posting record for perpetually inaccurate suggestions on all of cp.

What are you talking about?
They can do their finals later. Seriously guy, this happens all the time. No one is making it up.

Here is an article about Gaudreau finishing up his degree, last summer.

What was inaccurate about that observation? You think all contract negotiations take place face-to-face? You think teams send people to talk to every agent about every prospect?
