Neither. Hartley was rolling all the lines/pairings pretty evenly and we spent a lot of time on the PK and very little on the PP.

Sucks to lose to the worst freakin' team in the league. Hiller is terrible. Can't wait until he's gone this summer.

I hate losing to the Leafs, especially the last place Leafs. This has been such a ridiculous season.

We learned something this game though. It proved playing with Hiller is in fact slightly more effective than playing with an empty net.

Well, tonight made me a bit more of a believer in stats.

The 44th best goalie in the NHL was indeed better than the 45th best goalie.

As for the game - I wanted to beat Toronto because I hate Toronto, but also because of Kadri and the non-stop Oileresque talk about how Toronto is building something special, and Nylander is like the best player in the NHL already at his age.

Meh.. have to look at the positives. Better draft pick. Maybe even get to rub it into Toronto by drafting the better brother. Anyways, I digress. Flames lost on a back-to-back and by trying to do right with Hiller and give him an opportunity to shine on hockey's biggest stage, at a time when the international scouts are looking. Hiller didn't reciprocate, and that's fine. In the end, it is probably better off swallowing this loss anyways if you think big picture.

But yeah, I hate losing to the Leafs.

Erwin Rommel and George Patton agree - run with Hiller the rest of the way.

I was mostly watching the other three games, but I'm guessing Hiller was embellishing his glove saves Patrick Roy style. (Windmilling).

Hiller deserves a chance at redemption. Starting him in Arizona would be the right thing to do.

Great game! Love watching Nylander play. The young guys seem to be decent.

Kadri embellished with the stick throw but you guys are going over the top. He was still hacked by two people in two legs and then when he was down was jumped on.

I didn't think Hiller looked that bad, so don't know why so many people are ragging on him.

Did you see the first goal?

And the 3rd goal happens every game Hiller plays - over the shoulder while he's on his knees that people get frustrated with it.

I think we can safely say that the team (management) achieved the desired result from that game. They were winning to many games and getting away from a decent pick, 4 point game against one of the other teams in the bottom half of the league, chuck in the goalie that as good as guarantees a loss, hey presto.

Go to the Sportsnet app and what pops up? A Cox article about Bennett vs Nylander and how much closer the Leafs are to the Flames in the rebuilding stage than we all thought at the beginning of the year.

Toronto is stripping it right down but they still have a ways to go. If they add Matthews, Stamkos, and Marner to the roster next year then they might be close. Until then they do not have 2 top line players aged 21 and 22. They do not have the top 3 on the blueline that Clagary has. I still take Bennett over either Nylander or Marner as well.

If Calgary adds Matthews or one of the Fins this summer while getting a much better goalie they will blow past all Canadian teams in my opinion next year

Sorry Vinny but for TSN and Sportsnet, no team will ever blow by the leafs. You have to take everything said by the media about the leafs with a grain of salt because they won't really bite the hand that feeds them. They get paid to sing the praises of the leafs, at times they'll have a moment of clarity but those moments are far and few between.

The leafs do have some good prospects and they did play well, they still have a long way to go but since they're headed in the right direction it's getting blown out of proportion. Just let them have this, they're just doing their best not to be the oilers of the east...

Cox was whining about the Kadri diving penalty last night on twitter, saying the refs are "making it up as they go along". Firstly he has no idea what he's talking about and secondly he is a shameful homer.

Anything he writes should be considered drivel.

Yeah good points Poe. I do think the Leafs are rebuilding the right way and are on the path that will get them back to being a good team long term. I think the one move that might change everything is Stamkos but we will have to wait and see.

Adding Stamkos it would be difficult not to try and rush Nylander, Marner, 2016 1st and spend some money on a couple Dmen and address their goaltending. For an organization that preaches patience and the process adding a star like Stamkos will force them to contradict the message they have been hammering home since Shanny took over

Hiller for the rest of the season. Guy is exactly what this team needs.

Rush Nylander? He's already up in the NHL now. How is it going to rush him?

Marner is a tough case because he's one of those guys who probably doesn't need another season in junior but can't play in the AHL.

If diving was called as I believe it should be, one of Gaudreau or Kadri shouldn't have had a penalty. Not both.

Calling it as the NHL does (usually taking both parties) it was the right call. Embarrassing flop.

This is a case where I agree with the NHLs method.
