outside of the penalty no-call, it's been a good game for United so far. They are a much better, quicker and more energetic team with Schneiderlin instead of Fellaini. In other news, water is wet.

Demichelis botched a simple back pass, Hart and Martial both chased it. Hart seemed to pull a muscle or something.
ah too bad, Demichelis is off. City have now used all their substitutions with 35 minutes to go ...

Wow, so United got to play most of the game with Demichelis at CB and now get to play the rest with Caballero in net?
Why didnt City just sign the 3 points off to them at the beginning and save everyone the trouble?

You got high strung from that?
Ahhaha.
This ref is something. Rashford again gets fouled no call. Pereira really sells his though and Clichy gets booked.

always great to beat City. A bit lucky in the end and not a high-quality game at all, but hey, I'll take it. Plus the chances for the epic "Pep to the EL" have gone up as well!

If not for some poor refereeing yesterday I was hoping they'd both be in the EL and West Ham would take 4th!

Michael Oliver has not got the gonads to be a PL referee. Bottles the big decisions time and time again.

Little evidence so far that Klopp is much of an improvement over Rodgers.

Well, in fairness its the same team. Klopp has bought a grand total of no players and spent zero dollars.
So I guess it goes back to your question about how much value different managers actually have when they're tasked to make better bricks with the same crappy clay.

I think Klopp will be fine, but he simply may not win like he did at Dortmund because the PL is just that much more difficult. It seems Liverpool and United both right now are actually doing decently well against the other "top clubs", it's been struggling against the lower teams that has led to mediocre results overall.
And while it may be easy and convenient to blame City's collapse in recent months on the timing of the Pep announcement (which was admittedly poor), losing De Bruyne is what really derailed their season.

And that's what I'm saying.
Same players, and I haven't noticed much of a difference or improvement. No evidence of him being able to get more out of the players.
His honeymoon period will be well and truly over by start of next season and his results will be more scrutinized. Can't blame Rodgers for ever, for him getting average results.

What do you mean by this?
He'll win nothing but get them into the CL?

pretty interesting stats from RedCafe, suggesting that United have actually done better against top 6 clubs than against the bottom half. City is the complete opposite ... they are regularly dominating the weaker teams, but struggle mightily against the top clubs.
Quote:
United's record against the top 6 - Pld: 7 Won: 3, Drawn: 3, Lost: 1, Pts: 12, Pts per game: 1.7
United's record against the bottom half - Pld: 15, Won: 7, Drawn: 3, Lost: 5, Pts: 24, Pts per game: 1.6
City's record against the top 6 - Pld: 9 Won: 0, Drawn: 3, Lost: 6, Pts: 3, Pts per game: 0.3
City's record against the bottom half - Pld: 16, Won: 13, Drawn: 3, Lost: 0, Pts: 42, Pts per game: 2.6
