Crazy deal. But knowing the Hawks, they will find some sucker to take him since he's a ''vet with cup experience''. And then they will get asset's for him and the cycle of the Blackhawks will continue.

He's been out since Dec 17th with a dislocated wrist, but he wasn't very good in his 33 games before he got hurt this year.

This is not a very good value contract and a risky deal to say the least, but I guess they're banking on him to improve on his career high of 28 points which he achieved 2 years ago. But that will be very difficult if he's playing mainly 4th line minutes.

He's an elite 4th liner, but $3M is pretty insane.

Backlund at $3.575 is a steal in comparison as he's comparable defensively and much better offensively.

Kruger is a great 3rd liner. He goes up against some top players. Really good PKer.

His past 3 years cap hits have been less 1.5 mill or less.

This contract might look a bit much but it's more a payment for his past discounts he's given the team. He has taken some cheap deals the last 2-3 years in order for Hawks cap numbers to work.

Probably, Shaw and Bickell are up next... but they'll probably just promote Pokka, McNeill, Hartman and sign an aging vet willing to play a smaller role who wants one more shot at a cup and carry on as usual.
