Nate Diaz is a bad man. What a left hook.

Say what you want about McGregor, but he's a draw. Drew me in to a spur of the moment PPV buy sitting on my couch.

Great main event fights, really entertained. Anyone who doubts McGregor's star power should watch one of his fights in a crowded bar. Haven't seen that kind of fan support for a fighter since GSP

He was winning the trades with Diaz but it looked like McGregor gassed a bit and went for a uncharacteristic takedown attempt.... bad decision. Props for McGregor for taking the fight at 170 and props to Diaz for taking the fight on short notice. The fans were the real winners.

Nate was winning the on the feet, thats why Conor went for the takedown because he was going to be Tko'd

Thats what the Diaz's do, their way of volume punches takes away your breathing pattern. Conor didn't gas he just got lit up. Not saying Conor didn't land and give his own, but a little respect for Nates boxing skills.

He out boxed Conor which forced Conor to take him down because he had no other thing he could do. This is the Diaz's way of getting their opponents to the ground

Not shocked at this outcome at all, packing a bunch of weight on a frame meant to be lighter is not a recipe for success. especially when you do it in under 3 months.

The only thing that stopped me from making a small fortune on this fight was McGregor's big mouth.

A tweet that inspired thousands of "It took you longer to type this than you were in the ring with McGregor" replies. What a moron

I was a huge fan of the UFC for many years until my interest level dropped off around UFC 167 or so. It was the beginning of a time when there was simply too many cards on a regular basis for my schedule to keep up with and as a result I ended up taking a big step back as a fan.

Due to the timing of this, I ended up missing the introduction and subsequent rise of the female divisions within the organization. I've recently started to get back into following MMA much more closely and just wanted to say how impressed I was with the ladies on the main card tonight.

Nunes showed some impressive striking despite a bit of a weak gastank but it was Shevchenko who really won me over in that fight. With Nunes looking to sink in the RNC at the end of the 2nd round, I was fully expecting Shevchenko to give it up to her and bail on the fight. Instead, she showed tremendous heart in getting out of the round and almost caught Nunes in the 3rd with a couple of strikes. I enjoyed that fight.

The Holm/Tate battle and subsequent finish speaks for itself. I keep reading it is arguably the best female UFC fight in the short history which doesn't surprise me. It was alot of fun, both ladies deserve a tremendous amount of credit for laying it all on the line for 5 rounds.

I won't lie, when I heard about women's MMA, I was largely expecting slopfests with weak shots and ugly finishes. What I've been seeing out of the women since I've returned to watching the sport has tremendously impressed me. Watching the continued evolution of women's MMA is something I'm now really looking forward to following in the years ahead.

That massive reach for Diaz won the fight. Connor was winning cleanly but had to eat shots to get his punches in. Halfway through the 2nd round Diaz hit him clean with a left and it spun out of control for McGregor than. The take down attempt was pure desperation, trying to bide time, gather himself. With Nate Diaz though and a full minute left it was death.

Awesome fight. Moving up in weight probably isn't the smartest like some have said but it was the reach that couldn't be overcome.

As for women's MMA that Trojan touched on above.. I love it. Tate/Holm was a lot of fun and Joanna Jedrzejczyk is my favourite fighter at the moment, her trash talk is scary.

Nice to see the crowd pop like that for GSP.

2 inch reach advantage, Conor had a 4" on Aldo and a 8 in on Mendes but Nate kicks his ass and that 2" is a massive reach advantage

Lets not Nate stepped up a weight class also and didn't have a training camp and fought on 11 days notice. But nothing he did that won the fight

respect

Oh my, do you always have to play the Sensitive Diaz fan role?

Think I described going to the ground with Nate "death" for McGregor, that's a pretty big compliment to Diaz.

Rediculous.

Keep sitting on that fance, this way you are always on the winning side

You're the first to kick him when he down and not surprised you're not willing to give him his props when he succeeds. Conor didn't go to the ground because he wanted too... he was going to be TKO'd because he was being beaten standing up

Conor is a warrior and did his best to take Nate out, you live by the sword you also die by it.

From my first post on the fight.

99.9% of the time I couldn't care less who wins or loses, including this fight. I just want fun fights to watch, period. If you're going to pick apart my posts in a sad attempt to look for criticisms, ignore them and put me on ignore.

Glad you enjoyed the fight

Hopefully one day you find another fighter to cheer for, some of the greatest moments as a fan come from the feeling fear of defeat as it's happening. It's easy to only cheer for the fighters that always win but it's very rewarding cheering for those that are not the 1%. I say that in all honestly.

There's something special in cheering on guys like a Joe Lauzon rather than a GSP. Nothing wrong with being a fan of GSP, who isn't. Guys that will never be on top but maybe just maybe they get that one day in the sun

Diaz was fighting for 20,000 before this and just derailed the UFC golden goose. He may never get to have a belt around his waste but he didn't just land a lucky punch in this fight.

It's all part of being a fan, whether you cheer for the fights themselves or individual within them... but it's easy to only kick them when their down if and always jumping on the next elevator going up.

I honestly wish you get to experience this again, cheer for guys through victory and more importantly through defeat because in the fight game almost every fighter will hit that wall. Very rare someone like GSP retires on top

Fight game is a fun as a fan when you're emotional invested in the individuals

I never once suggested it was a lucky punch.

Yeah, I don't think Diaz was winning the stand up battle at all. He was taking some hard shots. At best it was even. He just had a better chin and better conditioning. I said at the end of the first round that MacGregor was getting gassed. You could see it clearly IMO.

Did you say something about always looking for criticism,

Thats all you took out of my post. I was being sincere and thats a much more respectful post then you have ever given me and you took nothing out of it

Sorry, I tried. please read the post again and change the negative tone you think it was coming at you with and read it in a sincere tone of one fan talking to another fan

Why can't being a fan but a fun thing,

I just wanted to address the only thing that had to do with the fight. The rest of it I didn't care for.

At least you've grown out of the personal insults, huge improvement and I'm happy to see that, I acknowledge it and thank you

I'll take that any day of the week. Like I said glad you enjoyed the fight.
