Well ARI seems out of it. NSH is in good position to make it. Right now it seems to be a battle between COL and MIN for that last spot unless NSH starts to falter.

ARI has lost 4 straight and is 3-7-0 in their last 10. They were in the playoff race but have now firmly entered the draft pick race.

I think that we basically have a set top 8 with Minnesota being the only one that realistically able to push for one of the spots.

I figure the matchups will end up being

Chicago vs Wild Card 2 (Colorado or Minnesota)
Dallas vs St. Louis

Anaheim vs Wild Card 1 (Nashville)
Los Angeles Vs San Jose

I dreaded the John Scott trade ending our season. That was such a blow to the locker room that really didn't need to happen.

Should we also start tracking the reverse standings? (as sad as that is)

I find the best way to see where teams rank, when they have played different numbers of games, is to look at how many games above/below .500 they are. This is what the bottom looks like after last night's action (Games remaining / Games under .500 / ROWs):

TML: 19 / 11 / 16
EDM: 16 / 9 / 21
CAL: 18 / 8 / 24
WPG: 19 / 6 / 24
BUF: 17 / 5 / 25
CBJ: 18 / 4 / 21
ARI: 18 / 4 / 26
VAN: 19 / 3 / 20

Let me know if you want me to keep updating this.

The nostalgic part of me would like to see Colorado get in the playoffs so Iginla get's another chance. Better yet if they could knock off Chicago and than let Dallas run over them in round two.

Good stuff, keep it going. I am taking a bunch of the bottom teams off the wild card race.

After Friday's games

No teams were in action

Los Angeles 63 gp (38-21-4) 36 ROW, 80 pts--first in the Pacific Division
Anaheim 63 gp (36-19-8) 33 ROW, 80 pts--second in the Pacific Division
San Jose 63 gp (35-22-6) 32 ROW, 76 pts--third in the Pacific Division
1. Nashville 65 gp (31-22-12) 29 ROW, 76 pts
2. Minnesota 65 gp (30-25-10) 30 ROW, 70 pts
3. Colorado 66 gp (33-29-4) 30 ROW, 70 pts

There are 2 wildcard playoff spots available. Teams in the smaller font are in a playoff spot because they are in either 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place in their division.

The Jets have disappeared from the radar and presumed to have crashed. The Cannots can't figure out what's gone wrong. The Coyotes have suffered roadkill and the Flames have no ignition source.
