Neither goalie has proven to be NHL level. Hartley is flipping between the two until one of them actually shows NHL starter level tending and earns the net, that would be my guess.

You may be joking but I've kinda wondered about that. It's not exactly been "putting him in a situation to succeed" with the totally soft defence, has it?

T he last one - you have to block that soft wrister, or else make sure the goalie can see it, not have triple layers of screening

It's almost comical how bad Hiller is.

Don't look now but with a Flames loss and a Leafs win, they pull within 2 points of CGY....This is how bad it is getting.

Yeh. Hrudey mentioned the "penalty" issues started "several" weeks ago. Tonight it is 8 to 4 for the Sabres.

You disagree? That shot should never get near the goal, or you should get the guy away from the front of the net. Hiller can do a better job seeing around the screen, but it's undeniable that there were three players screening, at different levels.
The Flames talked about layering the screen all last year, with Wideman and Gio shooting.

Oilers don't really fancy the idea of being playoff contenders. But playoff spoilers? They're comfortable with that role.

And they're basically playing the Marlies roster.
