It absolutely sickens me that the Oilers could very possibly pass us in the standings after tonight. There's no excuse for that crap. Barf.

Good. It feels bizarre to be cheering for the oilers to win, but I want them as far away from a lottery pick as possible, no matter where we end up. I cannot stomach them winning another lottery, and receiving another first overall pick.

Reading the posts on here makes me laugh. This is a bad team ,coached by a bad coach.Get over it.The goaltending is brutal, followed up by the worst special teams in the league.
Rebuild? Yes
Bad defense? Yes
I have been following this team since it was in Atlanta, and probably the worst team I have ever seen
But our time will come

The team has a horseshoe up its ass.

They will be the first ones to benefit from the new lottery rules that were specifically designed to reduced the odds of them picking first again.

It happened three season ago too. Flames drafted Monahan, Oilers got Nurse.

Buffalo got Ristolainen. Well played Edmonton.

Never seen Brodie schooled like that, and very rare for Monahan to make those mistakes.

Perfect shots from the Sabres on those, just as Hamilton's was on Lerner.

Regardless of where you are on the Hiller situation, the fact that two of our more dependable guys are making terrible, blatant mistakes makes you wonder about where their heads are at.

Aim high on Hiller and you're guaranteed at least 3 goals a game. Go short side, bad angle and you might get one to trickle in.

I remember watching a behind the scenes video and Sabres scouts were freaking out when Nashville went up with their Finnish scout to take Jones. Pretty sure Buffalo would've taken him first overall!

Turnover in the neutral zone caught Brodie on a change, hard to hang that on Brodie.

Makes you wonder if losing for draft picks is worth it?

It could make your best players complacent or ok with losing.

The Oilers actually improved at the deadline while we got worse. They lost Schultz and gained Maroon, huge upgrade overall. We lost Hudler, Jones and Russell and gained Jokipakka/Backstrom. Lost some depth up front for sure.

This is driving me nuts. Why do so many people keep using this term. Every team that misses the playoffs has a lottery pick. In fact, they have 3 shots in the lottery, because the top 3 draft spots are all determined by lottery going forward. And they've smoothed the odds out so much, that even if they finish last there is a very good chance they pick 4th.

They need to learn to deal with these lows as hey need to deal with the real highs (2nd round playoff run). I don't know really if these kids dealt with the highs really well or are right now dealing with this terrible season they're having terribly. Or both. Either way, this is a big time learning exercise for the team.

I've been wondering that for almost the whole year. It has been amateur hour on the ice for most games this season.

Honestly I disagree. As soon as Monahan made that nice play behind the net I kind of sensed he would fail to clear it. He has a tendancy to panic in the D-zone with the puck.

Still embarassing we got scored on there. Hiller needs to make a save.

Wouldn't go that far.
I'm thinking more that now that there's no chance of success this season, the younger players are starting to tune out the heavy handed message that Hartley's been beating them over the head with the last almost 3 seasons.

When you get results, the means don't matter so much...this year that message has certainly seemed to lose its effectiveness...and given the terrible special teams, which also can be hung on the staff...

Either the concussion(s) have effected Ferland's game or else he needs to get his head in the game. He's just invisible 75% of the games and he isn't talented enough to play like that.
