Wow! Dying of typhoid in this day and age is a rarity, but to die of it at least 3 times, as you suggest bin Laden has/will is a real longshot!

Won't believe it until that P.O.S. is displayed somewhere.

I think it is usually just a tactic NATO uses.
When Bin Laden is quiet for too long, they start rumours of his death so that he has to release another video to prove to his followers that he is still around.. because every time he makes a video, he is risking getting caught.

officials backpeddle according to CNN
makes sense, the US certainly doesn't want Bin Laden captured or dead. he's their boogyman, the figure that allows them to keep their populace in fear so they can introduce more legislation to strip their freedoms for "security"

So the officials said they 'thought' Bin Laden was dead, then suddenly remembered that they can't proclaim him dead, and backpeddled?
Rrrright.

I dont know, i think Cuda has a point. I obvoiusly dont know if he is or isnt dead but you have to believe there is a large portion of American government and CIA officials who like the idea of Bin Laden being "out there".

Well, I expect Bin Laden to be caught before the 2008 election...so you might have a point.
I don't think they like him being physically out there, but they will certainly use his name come election time, if he is caught.

They tried to find Saddam....Bin Laden doesn't seem so important right now.
It seems like the government wants us to forget about Afghanistan.

Not to mention Bin L is hidding in Pakistan...and it's not like NATO forces can just walk into Pakistan and start doing house to house searches.

I don't think our government wants us to forget Afghanistan at all. The government you are refering to is American. I believe you still live in Canada and are a Canadian citizen, n'estpas. The whole bit of Canadians identifying with the US govt. and citizens, makes me think you are influenced by to much American propoganda. A sad state for our youth.
