Except now he can be propped up by McDavid, Draisaitl or Matthews.
They need a power forward on their top two lines.

Yeah, you are right.

In the other thread I made a Penner comparison.

Yeah...seems odd to me too. They guy is worthless in the regular season and money in the playoffs. I dont see how that helps Edmonton at all.

Very odd considering he was so good in the playoffs. Signed for another 2 years at $2M...which is fairly reasonable.

Ha, thats what he gets for being a Flames tormentor over the last few years, a trade to Edmonton. Will be funny to see him in an Oil jersey.
Oh and if you want a disappointed player being interviewed, I would watch this guy's first Oilers media interview. Haha.

The GM's talk to a player they just traded to Edmonton must be the most difficult conversation of their careers

Because Getzlaf and Perry were lumbering oafs.

I don't "love" it, but he's better than a lot of their players.

Because the Oilers acquired a roster player for not a roster player?

Either way this is pretty much like paying Ferland or Jooris $2M.

Anaheim predominantly plays a cycling game, not a rush game, and that's why Maroon could be successful with them

Yeah, but Perry isn't slow, and I've seen them score off the rush plenty. Anyway, it's typical hyping of the skill of Edmonton (especially Eberle). Oh, how can anyone not super-elite play with the great McDavid and Eberle?

average player at best...he had a decent playoff playing with great players and got paid. The league is full of these guys and they almost never live up to the contract
Ducks are going into the playoffs and didn't want him
