Either that package or nothing when Russell would have walked in the off season. BT took the best available package and the return was quite good for an UFA like Russell.
Holding out for more and Calgary would have ended up like Vancouver with Hamhuis lol

Due to the lack of trades pretty easy to see the flames winning. They flipped Russell for a potential first but at least a second. A guy that can play in the NHL right now and another prospect.
