I like both players for different reasons, Chiasson has some offensive potential still even if he has sucked for Ottawa. Might rebound elsewhere.

I wouldn't give more than a 5th for either.

lots of interest on Russell
number of teams interested in Russell and the quality of offers, it is likely we move him
Would be surprised if something didn't happen with Russell today

wouldn't be surprised if another trade besides Russell, maybe something small
all pending Flames UFAs are getting interest

goaltending more likely to be addressed in the offseason rather than today


side note: unless I missed it, Treliving was supposed to be on TSN but Burke took the interview instead

Burke is saying they're getting interest in almost all UFA's. They should say yes to any offer on all of them.

I'm sensing this could be a pretty big let-down day. The teams that are threats have loaded up already, with the exception of Washington. Market is softening even for the guys that were considered to have highest value.

The trade was interviewing Burke instead of Treliving. I hope that means Brad is too busy working the phones.


Besides Russell, the only other pending UFAs are Hiller, Jones, and Nakladal (plus the injured Grant and Ramo). Nak is the only one I'd want to keep, but if the offer is good enough, you make that move.

If they can get anything for Hiller, that'd be great too. Highly unlikely though.

If they manage to trade Wideman or Stajan (or both) that would be fantastic.
