Granlund is an NHLer who did just as good in the AHL as Hunter. Both same size, only Granlund is a year older.
Just a change in scenery for both of them. Hopefully Shakaruk pants out, otherwise Flames lose this deal.

Shinkaruk has the higher upside. Granlund definitely has higher floor.
Flames had to deal with Baertschi and his sulking and entitlement issues, and now they trade for a prospect with rumored issues.
I didn't like Shinkaruk at the draft. I don't like him now. I do think he is highly skilled. Hopefully he has matured somewhat.

Not hating this trade. Hunter having a very good year. I have always liked Granlund but he has not been able to take the next step. As of right now I have to say I am a fan of the deal.

Not really feeling this trade one way or the other.
Granlund was just "fine" for me but didn't see him being part of the long term plans. Shinkaruk for me is kind of "meh", hopefully he can develop in the farm.

I'm very surprised they didn't try Granlund out on the wing before shipping him out.
I was also very happy when the Flames didn't draft Shinkaruk.
Bizarre. I guess we shall see how this pans out.
