Russell = overhyped by Bob M and a D man. The other two = Eastern media.

Saying Weise is worth more than Hudler is just ridiculous. He's a third line checking forward. Say what you will about Hudler, but he's a lot better than that. Especially as of late, and every previous year.

Also, Drouin would be a different kind of trade than the rest of the list. Eriksson and Boedker are likely to stay with their teams IMO.

If you exclude the people that are likely to stay with their teams, or bring back a different type of return, I think the ranking would be more like:

 1. Ladd
 2. Staal
 3. Hudler
 4. Russell
 5. Weise
 6. Hamhuis
 7. Polak
 |
I may be wrong but I think its "most likely to be moved" not what they will bring back.

Well it makes sense to scout the Blues then. Still, having Backes and Shattenkirk on the block before the playoffs makes little sense to me.

But why would other teams scout the Stars, if the Stars were buyers?

To see if there is something they would like in return, perhaps?

With all the events happening around the Flames this week, they really should get their foot on the pedal and start making something happen. The Roster is as disjointed as it is going to be. You're not going to screw any sort of chemistry up by subtracting players or adding any new ones. Just do something already.

Kyperios on the Habs/Avs game said that the Flames and Sabres were the two teams talking most with Tampa about Stamkos prior to his NMC kicking in last summer.

I wonder if we could have pulled off a trade like we did for Dougie... How many 1sts would it have taken?

Speaking of Bob McKenzie I almost crapped my pants when I tuned into Howard Stern today and he's on the show. Bob busting Garry's balls was priceless. It was really nice to see another side of him that you would never see otherwise.

Stamkos @ $7 million per wouldn't hurt my feelings.
Especially if he'd be OK playing RW and taking sweet feeds from Johnny for the next 7 years.

He'd never sign for that though.

What's the hurry? The fact that the season is done surely means Brad can stand pat and wait for something to pop up. He has until the deadline, as long as he sells Hudler, maybe Russell(wishful thinking) and maybe addresses the concerns in net(can wait till the off season, no major rush), then I'll be fine.

But I don't think he needs to rush anything now, won't make a blind bit of difference to this season.

I'm curious, why does everyone think that off season if the best time to get over inflated value for players. It's the exact opposite. Deadline day is where GM's get delerious and spend spend spend.

Also, you have 20+ games to audition new talent and acclimate new incomers to the team and system.
